This is a historic sign in the state of Wyoming.
The sign in the picture is on the Wyoming border, on the way to the Lincoln Highway. The Lincoln Highway was the first transcontinental highway in America, running from New York to San Francisco. There are several such historical markers in Wyoming.
The bottom of this sign reads "Henry Bourne Joy and the Lincoln Highway".
Henry Bourne Joy was the first president of the Lincoln Highway Association. As president of the Packard Motor Car Company, he campaigned for better roads in America. This sign was erected to honor him and the history of the Lincoln Highway.
The open fields, pine trees, and distant mountains seen in the background of the picture are typical Wyoming landscapes.
