Did you know that butterflyfish have “lifelong partners”? ✨
Many of the colorful butterflyfish you see on coral reefs practice monogamy. This means they choose a mate and stay together forever. 🐠🩵
THE REALLY ARE INSEPARABLE! They patrol the reef and forage for food, always together.
🔸They work as a team: while one eats, the other keeps watch for approaching predators. If they get separated among the coral, one swims upward to locate its partner and reunite immediately.
Why does this matter for conservation🤔?
