As a first-time paddler in the Oceanus Dragon Boat Club I feel excited, challenged and safe at the same time. Additionally, it keeps me energized, inspired and motivated.
Being a part of the team can be challenging at times since it demands your absolute best all the time, but it provides me with a sense of belonging, purpose and connection to others.
The members of the team support me on and off the water, through exercise regimens, mental health check-ups and simple encouragement in my daily activities.
I joined Oceanus in pursuit of a sport to keep me active outside of my exercise and gym sessions, but what I found was a family who understands and shares in my competitive drive and who are willing to stand up and fight for me. So whether you’re looking for a group of people to share your passion with or a community to call home, Oceanus Dragon Boat Club can provide it!

Happy World Down Syndrome Day to everyone! Today, we celebrate the unique abilities and talents of people with Down Syndrome and raise awareness about their rights and inclusion in society.
As a dragon boat community, we give credence to this important day and recognize the contributions of athletes with Down Syndrome. We believe in the power of diversity and inclusivity, and we are proud to be a part of a community that welcomes and supports people of all abilities.
