OUR FRUITS. OUR WINE
Our fruits because we empower our rural farmers to grow the fruits to meet their daily basic necessities. A packet of salt and a bottle of cooking oil may not be much in urban settings but it is a daily struggle for our folks back in the villages. Mountain Fruit Wine provides the opportunity for our impoverished farmers in EHP, Simbu, Jiwaka & WHP to generate some income to sustain their lifestyles.

BID UNSUCCESSFUL!
PNGRFL in its wisdom rejected the bid by Simbu Warriors citing the following reasons:
1). Protection of SP Brewery's interest as the platinum sponsor and
2). Field - Dickson Oval
As far as we are aware, all three teams that have bid for a spot in the 2021 Digicel Cup Competition have been rejected on various grounds.
PNGRFL knows very well that SP is the sponsor of PNG Hunters and PNGNRLC, it is not a platinum sponsor for PNGRFL. SP is part of Heineken and Heineken allows for FREE & FAIR COMPETITION. SP is directly breaching that policy. Also, beer and wine are two completely different industries. SP is a beer producer and Mountain Fruit Wine is wine and PNG has a free market policy and SP and PNGRFL cannot suppress and deny local SMEs that keep the profits in the country to help contribute to the building of the country's economy.
The interim board has over the last few weeks worked tirelessly to reshape the Dickson's Oval and CEO Stanley Hondina was given the opportunity to inspect the field and was satisfied. Simbu Warriors also has an MOU with Minj Jonah Amban oval for first couple of games until Dickson's Oval is fully upgraded.
PNGRFL and the people of PNG know very well that Gulf Isou, Hela Wigmen, Central Dabaris, Mendi Muruks don't have a home field.
Vitis Industries, a direct competitor to SP brewery was allowed to sponsor Central Dabaris.
The precedence has been set and PNGRFL has qualified itself to deny us on two grounds which it has clearly breached at the first place.
Therefore, the board has decided that they will challenge the decision in the competent court and if need be expose all the corruption at PNGRFL and PNGNRLC.

Dear Fans, Supporters and People of Simbu

The Sepik Pride have come out on their official page that their bid was unsuccessful. That does not mean Simbu Warriors Bid is too.
Until such official announcement by PNGNRLC, our bid is well and truly alive!

SIMBU DISTRICT 9s ENDS ON HIGH NOTE!
In every team that participates in the Digicel Cup competition, there is not one or two but over three players of Simbu origin in the team. Therefore, the rugged and mountainous province of Simbu is the factory for Rugby League players.
The Mountain Fruit Wine sanctioned District 9s competition between the 17-19 January was to identify, develop and expose those Rugby League talents to the world. The selected players will form the Simbu Warriors team for 2021 season and beyond.
The players came from all the four corners of Simbu. Each district fielded two teams each. A total of 16 teams participated in the true spirit of RL. Chuave district unfortunately did not field a team due to tribal fight at Dumun.
They came from the remotest parts of Simbu not for the prize money on offer nor did they come for prestige. They came to have a crack for inclusion in the Simbu Warriors. They came to showcase their raw talents with the Warriors that will help nuture and expose them. They came in the footsteps of Bal Numapo, Stanley Gene, Menzie Yere, Makali Aizue, Michael Mark and Justin Olam to name a few. They came to emulate them and better.
The display of raw talents at the District 9s got the selectors gasping for air. Everyone was determined and the skills and talents on display was second to none.
To give a fair chance to those who stood out during the 9s tournoment, Mountain Fruit Wine has decided that an eighty (80) men squad will be assembled. The 80 will be divided into four teams consisting of 20 players each. Over two days, the four will be challenging each other in a 13 men game that will see the team trimmed down to 40. The 40 will then go into camp and prepare for the 2021 season.
Mountain Fruit Wine is committed to ensure Simbu Warriors is not a push over in 2021.
Our Fruits. Our Wine. Our Team.
Let the games begin!
