Our Pre-Season games kicks off for 3 Sundays, dates are May 24, May 31 and June 7.

All teams are advised to let the Committee know by this Thursday, May 14th of their participation so the draws can be made.

*Club and Players Registrations are OPEN.*
1. Club Registration = K300
2. Players Registration = K10

Reward for Pre-Season Games: Club Registration will be paid for Clubs whose team is 1st in each division.

Installation Completed: Laiwaden Basketball Courts Backboards and its rims 🏀

We have restored our basketball courts with new backboards and rims - and the results speak for themselves! 🤩🤩

We will continue to enhance the courts' appearances but also improve safety and playability.

And we also ask the basketball community and the public to take care of the courts because it belongs to you.

A big thank you to the team from MadFox Pawa Madang Butchery for helping with the installation.

Everybody lines up… just not for the right things.

Packed gyms for games.
Cameras for exposure.
But when it’s time to actually develop, lift, and learn… the lines disappear.

The difference isn’t talent.
It’s priorities.

We were fortunate to host the Madang 3 v 3 basketball tournaments for 2 weekends
The tournament hosted 3 divisions.

1. Kids (under 16)
2. Mix Division
3. Male.
Under kids we had 5 team.
1. Mercy Learning Academy reptiles
2. Gospel Light house
3. Madang Christian Academy
4. Mery Learning Academy team 1
5. Divine Word University Residents
Under Mix:
We had:

1. Gosple light house
2. Divine Word University Residents
3. Business Studies Dogs
4. DWU Staggs
5. BGN
Under male division:

1. Su***de Squad
2. Mavericks team 1
3. Mavericks team 2
4. Divine Word University Residents
5. Business Studies Dogs
6. BGN

The competition was a success with
Mercy Learning Academy Reptiles winning first price for under 16

For the mix Division
Divine Word University Residents won came first

And lastly the Male division
The Su***de Squad came first.

The major sponsor for our Madang 3 v 3 basketball tournament was Kurere M. Matanzana. The Director of Madang Rural Development Foundation.

He was able to come also on Saturday the 28th and speak words of encouragement to all the community. Focusing on sports also is a key pathway for community development and learning. That young people should learn disciplines and be able to achieve great things in their lives. Mr Kurere has done many community projects for Madang in the past, and having him encourage the community was a blessing 🙌.

With that were able to run a successful 3 v 3 basketball tournament.

We also would like to acknowledge our host club Divine Word University. And all Madang Association clubs that joined.

Divine Word University has associated itself as an association and also participates in helping growing basketball in Madang. The 3 v 3 tournament was organized by DWU club with help from Madang Town Basketball Association members and players.

Season proper would start after Easter weekend.
Also DWU are currently running basketball clinis for kids every Thursday anf
Fridays. And aims to increase participation of interest kids that need basic basketball training to participate.

With that thank you to all that participated and our major sponsor Madang Rural Development Foundation and DWU for the successful Madang 3 v 3 tournament.
