Day 4 marked the final day of the ITF regional training camp, and after yesterdayโ€™s mini-tournament, the focus shifted back to the technical side of the game. ๐ŸŽพ

Using the observations gathered throughout the tournament, players spent the day working on key areas including serves, returns, and transitional play. It was a great opportunity to reinforce good habits, refine technique, and continue building confidence on court.

We wrapped up the camp with a special lunch and kai kai generously provided by our parents, followed by the presentation of some special PNG gifts for the players and coaches who had travelled from outside Papua New Guinea. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฌ

To finish off a fantastic four days together, the group visited the National Museum, giving our visitors a chance to experience and learn more about PNGโ€™s rich culture and history.

A big thank you to all the players, coaches, parents, and supporters who helped make this camp such a memorable and successful experience. Massive thank you to Pairin from the ITF for imparting important tennis knowledge onto our players & coaches and working with our coaches to grow and strengthen tennis on PNG and in the region.

We look forward to seeing the continued growth of these young athletes both on and off the court. ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽพ

Day 3 ITF REGIONAL TRAINING CAMP Recap:

โ€ข Mini Tournament
โ€ข Strength & Conditioning

Today's mini-tournament was about much more than wins and losses.

One of the key objectives was to observe how our players prepare before each match and how much responsibility they take for their own preparation. From warming up properly to being mentally ready to compete, these are important habits that help build independent and confident athletes.

The tournament also provided a valuable opportunity for our coaching team to observe player behaviours, strengths, and areas for improvement in a match environment. Identifying what the players did wellโ€”and what still needs workโ€”will help us fine-tune our plans as we head into Day 4 of the camp.

A great day of learning, competing, and growing both on and off the court. Well done to all the players & coaches for their effort and commitment! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽพ
