📣Port Moresby, PNG- The road to 2025 international cricket representation narrowed today as Papua New Guinea’s Men’s Train-On Squad of 25 players participated in a 50-over cricket trial match, in preparations for two major upcoming tournaments this year, the 50-over ODI tournament in Jersey in August and the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers in Oman in October.

With just days to go before the final squad of 14 players are named in the National team the Barramundi’s, today’s match it was a proving ground. Under clear skies at the Amini Park in Port Moresby, players put their skills, fitness, and mindset to the test, knowing that selectors were watching every move. From this extended squad of 25, Cricket PNG will first narrow the group to 20 contracted players.

📣🏏The Papua New Guinea Lewas have finally lifted the trophy as champions of the PacificAus Sports Cricket Invitational with PNG, finishing top of the ladder after an emphatic 94-run victory over Samoa Women in the final round of the tournament held today (Saturday 21 June) at Amini Park.

After six days of competitive cricket, the PNG Lewas delivered a high performance in round 2, match 12 to seal the title with a net run rate (NRR) of 1.6461 and 10 points, narrowly edging out Australia Indigenous Women (NRR 1.4221), who also finished on 10 points.
