Civpac Amesi taking on KSS Flames tonight 6pm at John Guise Stadium, Port moresby in PNG Mens Basketball League (PMBL).

Civpac is a civil construction company from Erave SHP and Kutubu Security Service (KSS) is a security form from Kutub and both are from SHP.

The National Souths Basketball League (NSBL) Tournament for this year got underway two days ago in Goroka EHP. Yesterday the event was officially opened by the Governor for Eastern Highlands Hon. Peter Numu, Member for Goroka, Hon Aiye Tambua, Lady Marape and Secretary for Works Mr. David Wereh.

While apologising that he was not briefed early he pledged K50,000 next year. However if the game is held in Goroka again next year he will double the amount. The Goroka MP allocated K10,000 to the tournament and the families and friends of Works Secretary organised dinner for all 20 teams taking part in the tournament.

Today we will have the Prime Minister's wife and daughter will be playing for City Rangers team.

Although there have been confusions over the executives and management of the tournament the tournament has recieved huge recognition and support.

There is a possibility of the NSBL tourney in Goroka for this weekend to be postponed to next weekend starting next Thursday.

The National Souths Basketball League (NSBL) will announce new executives and patron in a formal meeting in mid next month. The meeting will be attended by;
1). Former, current and new patrons
2). Former, current and new executives

The agenda of the meeting are;

1) Annoucement of interim executives and patron

2) Handover/takeover of executives and patron roles

3) Annoucement of NSBL tournament for 2021

It is important to note that the dates and venues for this year's tournment has not been set as yet. Therefore, any posts/annoucements on dates and venues of this years tournament is misleading and teams and players are advised not to be misled.

As you all players and fans of NSBL are aware, the NSBL for the first time in its short history has not hosted any tournaments in the last couple of years and there have been.ongoing management issues which has led to the key founder members of NSBL to come forward to call for this meeting and change the current regime. Although harsh this is the best option to ensure the League is revived. NSBL is bigger than any executive or patron and therefore the change is necesary for the League and SHP basketball in general.

There are very committed and reputable Southern Highlanders that have agreed to take on the vatious management roles and we kindly ask people to refrain from making any posts or annoucements for this years tournament.

We would like seek interest from any individuals that are interested to volunteer to help with the planning and running of NSBL tournament this year. please inbox if you are interested. We have not had any tournament for over two years and we would like to mobilise passionte basketballers and teams to help make sure we have a tournament this year. We are current working on a new interim executives. Will appreciate your suport.

The National Souths Basketball League (NSBL) will soon annouce the new look executives and new tournament structure.

These are amongst the number of changes the founders of the League and passionate basketball players, supporters and fans have demanded for going into the future.

Since the departure of some of the executives in 2016/2017 that have been involved in running tournaments there have not been any tournaments for number of years recently.

The Association needs people who are both committed and passionate to be involved so it can continue to organise tournaments consistently and bring some dispcline to the League and raise the profile of the League.

The dates and the venues for this year's tournament will be announced in the coming weeks. Teams are therefore urged to check this page for further updates as certain aspects of team and player eligibility will be changed amongst others.
