THE 2025 Gerehu Firelight 7s tournament lit up Port Moresby at the weekend, with Monaka and Stoltz Takers crowned joint winners of leg one after a thrilling showcase of rugby sevens at Gerehu oval.

Tournament director Rawali Bokuik commended both teams for their standout performances and rapid development since debuting last year.

“Both these teams have turned up the flame since first competing in 2024. It will only get better. Remember the names in leg two and our big tournament in December,” Bokuik told The National.
