The Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee (PNGOC), as custodian of Team PNG , is proud to announce that squash athlete and mentor Amity Alarcos has been selected to represent PNGOC at the International Working Group (IWG) Global Summit on Women and Sport, taking place from 9th–11th July 2026 in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Amity's selection reflects her ongoing contribution to sport as an athlete, coach, and mentor, and her commitment to supporting greater opportunities for women and girls in sport.

As part of the programme, Amity will advance a Gender Equality Action Plan focused on Participation, aimed at increasing opportunities for women and girls to become involved in sport through coaching, mentorship, school engagement, community outreach, and the creation of safe and welcoming participation environments.

The IWG Global Summit is the world's largest gathering dedicated to advancing gender equality in sport, bringing together athletes, administrators, researchers, coaches, and policymakers from around the world to share knowledge, strengthen networks, and develop practical solutions for increasing the participation, leadership, and visibility of women and girls in sport.

PNGOC congratulates Amity on this achievement and looks forward to working alongside@squashfedpng and other stakeholders to translate the knowledge and experiences gained through the Summit into meaningful outcomes for women and girls in sport across Papua New Guinea.

Amity's participation is supported through , whose continued investment in athlete and leadership development helps strengthen the Olympic Movement's commitment to gender equality and inclusive sport.

❗️Joseph Yomiano (U15) making waves and showing true grit in every rally.

❗️Teresa Loi (U13) making her competition debut with fearless energy, guided by Coach Amity Alarcos.
