As we wrap up 2025, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our Lord God Almighty for the blessings bestowed upon us this year. 🙏✨

This year has been a testament to resilience and determination, as we faced challenges, setbacks, and unforeseen failures. Despite not being able to carry out all our planned activities, we persevered because we trusted the process and each other. Together, we have shown that unity and faith can overcome any obstacle. 💪❤️

Being an active member of the Vanimo Soccer Association (VSA), we are committed to supporting the VSA in reaching its goals and objectives. We understand the importance of collaboration and contribution to the broader football community, and we look forward to achieving great things together.

We are also dedicated to continuing the operation of the Vanimo Hekari Football Academy, nurturing and developing the future passionate footballers of West Sepik Province. Investing in our youth is crucial for the growth of football in our region, and we are excited about the potential talent that lies ahead.

One of our proudest achievements this year is seeing two players from our senior men's team join Hekari United Football Club. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the management and coaching staff at Hekari United for their mentorship. We hope to see our players reach new heights and represent Papua New Guinea in the OFC regional tournaments! 🇵🇬⚽

We are also proud of our achievements with three of our four divisional teams—Women's, Division-1 Men's, and Premier Men's—making it to the grand final playoffs in the VSA Proper Season 2025 competition. Our humble players, Your hard work and commitment have truly paid off! 🎉⚽

A special congratulations goes to our Premier Men's team, who earned the Minor Premiership Award for their exceptional performance throughout the season. Their dedication to leading the points ladder has set the stage for VCUFC to proudly represent the Vanimo Soccer Association in the National Club Championship in 2026! 🏆

Additionally, we are thrilled to have organized the historical friendly match between PNG's champion club, Hekari United FC, and our local select side. This event highlighted the immense talent within our community and strengthened our bonds.

A special thank you to all our sponsors, families, and friends who have supported us this year. Your unwavering support has been invaluable, and we remain committed to maintaining our relationships as we look forward to the opportunities and challenges of the new year, 2026!

50 years ago Today (16 Sep 2025)

50 years ago, on this very ground in Port Moresby, Gough Whitlam stood side by side with Papua New Guinea’s first Prime Minister, Sir Michael Somare to mark the birth of PNG as an independent country.

Now, the Papua New Guinea flag proudly flies on these grounds.

Today we honour the rich history and the deep ties between our nations - built on shared history, values and an enduring bond.

"Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country".
This famous line comes from John F. Kennedy's inaugural address on January 20, 1961, when he was sworn in as the 35th President of the United States.

As we celebrate our country's 50th Independence Anniversary, let this quote serves as a powerful call to action, urging us as proud citizens to contribute our talents and efforts to the common good rather than expecting personal benefits from the government. May Kennedy's words inspire all Papua New Guineans to new possibilities and a sense of national purpose, with many people inspired to join public service organizations or engage in social programs.
