NRL in PNG - League Bilong Laif

PNG in partnership with the Australian Government. LBL works with elementary and primary schools in the four regions- National Capital District, East New Britain, Morobe and Eastern Highlands Province, using rugby league as a tool to support education, health and behavioural outcomes. Each term, the NRL’s development officers work with elementary and primary school teachers to deliver the six -session program, which includes on-field and in-classroom activities that are non-contact and non-competitive. LBL uses a range of rugby league-themed educational and reading resource materials developed with Macmillan Education Australia that encourage healthy lifestyles and boost students’ physical, social, literacy and math skills. Development officers also deliver key social messages on respect, healthy active lifestyle and the importance of education for all Papua New Guineans, in addition to identified school-specific messages. League Bilong Laif is managed through a three-way partnership between the Australian Government (PNG Australia Partnership), the PNG Government (represented by the National Department of Education) and the NRL.
