Mandi Village proudly hosted a landmark Vanilla Learning Event, led by Mongs AgTrade Services Ltd, bringing together an incredible group of leaders and changemakers from across Papua New Guinea.

This event marked a major milestone in strengthening vanilla farming knowledge, market access, and innovation — right from the heart of East Sepik!

The event also highlighted the critical role of partnerships in transforming rural livelihoods through sustainable vanilla development.

Today, the hardworking Wiarum Vanilla Farmers came together for a big clean-up effort as we prepare the site for an exciting development — the construction of a vanilla shed house by the EU-STREIT PNG programme🛠️🏠

This shed will be a vital facility for vanilla processing, helping us improve quality, maintain hygiene standards, and add more value to our locally grown vanilla. 🍦🌿

We thank EU-STREIT PNG programme for their continuous support and investment in rural livelihoods. This is more than just a building — it’s a step toward empowering our farmers and strengthening the vanilla value chain in our community. 💪💚

Vacuum Sealing is not a suitable method for vanilla conditioning. Conditioning is a crucial step in the curing process where moisture and aroma are evenly distributed within the beans. Vacuum sealing disrupts this process in several ways:
1. Loss of Aroma and Flavor – Vanilla beans need air exchange to develop their rich aroma. Vacuum sealing removes this interaction, potentially leading to a duller scent and flavor.
2. Uneven Curing – The moisture inside the beans needs time to redistribute naturally. Vacuum sealing can trap moisture unevenly, causing some beans to dry too quickly while others remain too wet.
3. Risk of Mold and Fermentation – If the beans still have residual moisture, sealing them in an airtight environment can create conditions for mold growth or unwanted fermentation.
