We kicked off our kendo lessons with grade 7 pupils today, and despite being complete beginners, they demonstrated impressive enthusiasm and dedication. I'm excited to see them grow into skilled kendoka!

This is more important than practice sometimes

Teaching new pupils in kendo is challenging. Around 80% of beginners drop out, and only about 20% continue. For the instructor, it is never easy to raise pupils into good kendoka—it requires a great deal of patience. Yet, a kendo instructor cannot give up; perseverance is essential in guiding students on their path.

We are training an adorable and polite 15-year-old girl from Soosuk Kendo Club (수석검도관) in Incheon, Korea. We've discovered she has great potential and enthusiasm for kendo. We have high expectations for her to become an excellent kendoka, developing both physically and mentally in the art.
