A heartfelt thank you to the Gyeong-Buk Uiseong-Gun Firefighter Department and Fire Volunteers from South Korea for generously providing new chess boards for our players. 🏆♟️ These will surely be put to great use in our practice matches and inspire more students to discover the joy of chess.

Xian Miguel Acopio (Grade VI - FL) emerged victorious in our first-ever Practice Tournament, clinching the top spot after a thrilling tie-break against Ariane Steff Hyacinth Cayetano (Grade VI-FL)—both scored 4 points, but Xian’s Round 2 win over Ariane sealed the deal! 🥇
Ariane takes a well-earned second place 🥈, while our City Meet qualifier, Mel Natzu M. Balbas (Grade V-FL), finishes strong in third 🥉.

Congratulations to our very own chess club players! Rising Chess stars!

We proudly celebrate Mel Natzu M. Balbas and Kyle A. Pradel for their strong debut at the Under-12 Chess Tournament held at SM Masinag last September 28, 2025!

🎉 Out of 30 talented players, Mel and Kyle held their own, both scoring 3.5 points out of 7 rounds, and finishing 15th and 19th respectively.

Though it was their first tournament outside Deped events, their winning spirit shone through. This experience will surely boost their confidence and sharpen their skills as they continue their journey toward becoming chess champions.

A week has passed since the battle of minds unfolded on the board, yet the awe remains strong. Congratulations to our brilliant young athletes for elevating our new chess club and our school to new competitive heights!

For the first time in years, our Chess Girls Team bagged an award in three categories, claiming 2nd place in Blitz and Rapid, and 3rd place in Standard.

Our Chess Boys Team clinched 2nd place in the Standard event, and for the second year in a row, we celebrate a qualifier for the City Meet, kudos to Mel Natzu M. Balbas for his stellar 3rd place finish!

Your hard work, focus, and dedication have truly paid off. Indeed a debut to remember for our new set of players. We are incredibly proud of each one of you. Keep making moves that matter!
