Grade - 10 student Miko Hinolan of CSA-B proudly represented the Philippines during the Asian Open Schools Invitational (AOSI) in Assumption Universityโs Aquatic Center, Thailand. The competition was held throughout August 29 - August 30, 2026, and gathered various swimmers all over Asia.
The Augustinian athlete went hand-in-hand with 17 countries and bagged multiple finishers, ranked No. 7 in 25m backstroke and 25m breaststroke. He wrapped it up with lightning speed at just 19 seconds. Hinolan competed as apart of the Philippine Patriots, helping the Philippine team triumph as overall AOSI 2026 champions in the two day swim meet.
From morning practices to solo flights, Miko persevered, fought, and kept calm. Marking yet another milestone in his swimming career. The diver has previously contended at the Milo National Interschool Meet and other various events.
โIt was really a challenge competing with other countries, it (AOSI) was very interesting, especially with other swimmers having different cultures, but over time I guess it is fun to explore other cultures. You learn alot on the way and it can even actually help with hygiene, lifestyle, and in the long term of life and after the event it was kind of sad because we were all enjoying and even got to meet new friends from different countries.โ Said Hinolan.
