Once a tennis standout, joins the movement fueling the Philippines’ pickleball explosion, and at the same time proving the sport is more than just a passing craze.

Clarice had heard about this new sport called pickleball even when she was still a top-ranked tennis player. But it wasn’t until a few years ago that she finally gave it a try.

“Kinonvert na pickleball court, ‘yung badminton (court). Wooden pa ‘yung floor. So, tin-ry ko, parang okay pala siya, parang tennis. Tapos, after nun, sunod-sunod na ‘yung araw na naglalaro.”

Now, she’s one of the top female players in the country, even as the sport continues to reach new heights.
