Officials and employees of the city government of Baguio including all Punong Barangays were mandated to wear purple every Wednesday for the month of March in observance of the 2026 National Womenโ€™s Month celebration.

Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong issued Memorandum No. 37, series of 2026 for the strict compliance of said order while also encouraging schools and national government agencies in Baguio City to support and participate in the said observance.

This is in line with the directive of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), and as highlighted during the during the Womenโ€™s Month Steering Committee meeting, all offices and barangays under the city government of Baguio to support the campaign specifically on March 4, 11, 18, and 25, 2026.

This yearโ€™s Womenโ€™s Month celebration theme is โ€œWE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.โ€

Several activities and programs have been prepared by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) headed by Liza Bulayungan and the office of Councilor Betty Lourdes Tabanda as committee chair on Women, Social Services and Urban Poor and in coordination with local and national line agencies.

Some of the activities focus on health, livelihood, awareness, service, self and environmental care, digital literacy, sports, Gender and Development (GAD), arts, literature, eco-fashion including that for Women with Disabilities (PWDs) among others. โ€“ JM Samidan
