Today, we honor the courage, resilience, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of the Filipinos who fought for the freedom we enjoy today. As we commemorate the 128𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, may we remember that true patriotism is reflected not only in celebrating our history but also in how we serve our communities, uphold truth, practice integrity, and contribute to nation-building for our beloved motherland.

The 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 recognized communication students’ exceptional talent, creativity, and hard work this past academic year with certificates and smiles all over as the evening sparkled with elegance and flair.

From special awards honoring local and international awardees to academic distinctions, there was no doubt that all the commendations and cheers were some of the highlights of the night.🏆

A classy night is not complete without music. Musical numbers from our fellow communication students filled the room with roaring applause and laughter. The booming beats on the dance floor contributed to the lively atmosphere as students and faculty enjoyed the night of their lives. 🌙

The most anticipated night for Communication students, “𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀,” finally happened. The COMMares and COMMpares walked the red carpet dressed with elegance and pride with the theme “𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘇𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀”, celebrating the night at Hotel Supreme Diamond Grand Ballroom last May 24, 2026.

COMM Laureates Night is celebrated by SLU BA Communication students and faculty, from freshmen to seniors, in recognition of their achievements and contributions to the COMMunity that shapes the future of society. The annual awards night is yet again filled with dazzling gowns and suits worn by the COMMpamilya, shining rich from head to toes reflecting that both inside and outside the COMMpamilya carries the same light of creativity, commitment, and integrity that shines through ✨.

The event was opened with warm welcoming remarks by the Language and Communication Department Head Dr. Joselita Ferrer, who praised students for translating learnings into meaningful projects that expand outside the four walls of the classroom and have a community impact. The night continued shining brightly as performances from students lit the stage. From melodic song covers and originals, and an energetic dance performance the night continues to be hyped with the COMMunity’s vigor spirit 🕺🪩.

Beyond the awards, the night was dedicated to the seniors, 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗘𝗰𝗵𝗼, who are graduating this year🧑‍🎓👩‍🎓. Their skills and enthusiasm filled their internship with more than just learning but a COMMunity that reminds them to continue to tell stories that are change-driven and powerful. Making a mark in the world and on the younger batches who look up to them. A tribute to the seniors that highlights their achievements and illuminates the lives of other people through how they impacted their lives. A testimony that Batch Echo has served the COMMunity with respect, creativity, and leadership. With people close to their hearts sending messages to each of them 💌.

The night does not end with just goodbyes, but the stage is yet again lit with flashing lights and speakers on volume as music blasts in the grand ballroom to conclude the night on a high note. COMMares and COMMpares dance through the music and strut their poses as photos are constantly taken. A night to be remembered and treasured by the COMMpamilya. Marking the resilience and strength of each student in the COMMunity💛🧡❤️.

Batch Echo interns finally reached their milestone moment today, May 23, 2026, taking the stage at the Waldo Perfecto Auditorium (P700) to share their experiences and reflections from their respective Host Training Establishments (HTEs).

Through the Senior Moment session, the interns looked back on their 3-month journeys with organizations from various sectors—including ABS-CBN, CHSO, DEPDev CAR, Herald Express, MPBC DZWT Radyo Totoo, PIA CAR, Baguio City PIO, PTV Cordillera, UIO, and OGRAASP. They shared key milestones, personal growth, and valuable achievements, leaving the audience with practical advice on what to prepare for in the professional world.

Joining the interns today are the Batch Falcon COMMares and COMMpares. For the juniors, the session was a powerful realization of the exciting challenges ahead that will shape them into competent, industry-ready professionals. For the seniors, it marked a bittersweet sense of renewal as they prepare for graduation and transition into the workforce.

Congratulations, Batch Echo! We look forward to seeing you take center stage at graduation. Best of luck to Batch Falcon. We can’t wait to see you learn from the best in the industry when your time comes!
