One year ago, Ding Liren became the World Champion! 👑♟️

The World Chess Championship 2023 in Astana, Kazakhstan, saw 🇨🇳 Ding Liren face Ian Nepomniachtchi. Ding clinched victory in the tiebreaks, becoming the World Champion and the first Chinese player to hold the title. Jointly with Women's World Champion Ju Wenjun, China became the holder of both the open and women's world titles.

🗣️ In the final press conference of the match, after the very dramatic last game of the tiebreaks that gave Ding the title, he stated: "The match reflects the deepest of my soul."

Grandmaster na si Janelle Mae Frayna na unang Filipina na nagkamit ang titulong GM, plano pa rin na makamit ang International Master title.

Handang-handa na si Frayna maging lone female sa Team Pilipinas na sasabak sa World Chess Olympiad.

Kasalukuyang nasa India si Frayna para lumahok sa Bangalore International Grandmasters Open Chess Tournament, kung saan ipapakita niya ang kanyang husay sa chess at gigibain ang mga hadlang sa larangan ng laro.
