In a time where the headlines are often filled with war, injustice, and all the noise that weighs heavy on the spirit, from the Middle East to closer to home,
itโ€™s reassuring to be reminded that community still matters. That people, when they come together, can choose to build rather than break, to support rather than divide.

This year, CDO RFCโ€™s Coach Noel Villa and BJ Devibar return to the roads of Camiguin 360 for the second consecutive year. What was once about survival has now evolved into something more - an honest challenge to be better, to finish stronger, and to honour the journey.

Weโ€™re proud to share that the Rafters have once again partnered with Fliq Athletics for this yearโ€™s run. A brand that stands firmly by its ethos, โ€œ๐™๐™ค๐™ง ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™๐™ฃ๐™™๐™š๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง๐™ง๐™š๐™™,โ€ aligns seamlessly with both the spirit of Ultra Running and the core values of rugby - ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™œ๐™ง๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ, ๐™ฅ๐™–๐™จ๐™จ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ, ๐™จ๐™ค๐™ก๐™ž๐™™๐™–๐™ง๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ, ๐™™๐™ž๐™จ๐™˜๐™ž๐™ฅ๐™ก๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™š, ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™ง๐™š๐™จ๐™ฅ๐™š๐™˜๐™ฉ. Values that arenโ€™t just spoken about, but lived out especially when the road gets long and the legs grow weary.

Thereโ€™s something quite powerful about this collaboration - Philippine Rugby - Philippine Volcanoes National Team (PRFU) & Northern Mindanaoโ€™s premier rugby club standing shoulder to shoulder with one of the Philippinesโ€™ fastest growing athletic wear brands. Itโ€™s more than just sport; itโ€™s a shared belief in resilience, in showing up, and in backing one another when it matters most.

For Coach Noel, this run carries even deeper meaning. Itโ€™s not just about distance or time, itโ€™s about purpose. This yearโ€™s Ultra Marathon is being run as a fundraiser in support of a former teammate who underwent an emergency brain aneurysm operation in December 2024. The outpouring of support thus far has been nothing short of humbling, and itโ€™s that very support that fuels every step forward. This is running with purpose. This is running with pride.

A heartfelt shout as well to our friends at Little Eagle Foundation steadfast supporters of rugby development in the Philippines for getting behind this cause. You can also catch them alongside our mates from Eagles RFC at the upcoming Manila 10s.

And to everyone who has rallied behind this effort ๐™›๐™ง๐™ค๐™ข ๐˜พ๐™ค๐™–๐™˜๐™ ๐™‰๐™ค๐™š๐™กโ€™๐™จ ๐™›๐™–๐™ข๐™ž๐™ก๐™ฎ, ๐™›๐™ง๐™ž๐™š๐™ฃ๐™™๐™จ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™˜๐™ก๐™ž๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™จ, ๐™ฉ๐™ค ๐™›๐™ง๐™ž๐™š๐™ฃ๐™™๐™จ ๐™–๐™˜๐™ง๐™ค๐™จ๐™จ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™ง๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™˜๐™ค๐™ข๐™ข๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ, ๐™๐˜พ๐˜พ๐™‚๐™”, ๐™†๐˜พ๐™, ๐™‹๐™‰๐™‹ ๐™‹๐™ง๐™ค 10 ๐™๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™ฃ๐™š๐™ง๐™จ, ๐™๐™ช๐™ฃ ๐˜ฝ๐™ง๐™ž๐™ค, ๐˜ผ๐™˜๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ซ๐™š ๐™‹๐™๐™ž๐™ก๐™ƒ๐™š๐™–๐™ก๐™ฉ๐™ ๐™๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™ฃ๐™š๐™ง๐™จ - you know who you are ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฝ. In times like these, itโ€™s these small but meaningful acts community, sport, solidarity - that remind us there is still plenty of good worth running for.

How is this even happening? What frustrates me the most is that after a long flight, the team arrives at the airport only to find that their bus is nowhere to be seen. Instead of waiting another three hours for it to arrive, the boys jump in the back of a truck to get to the hotel.

To make matters worse, theyโ€™re denied a late checkout, leaving them to either wander around or sleep in the lobby for hoursโ€”while the Hurricanes squad gets to rest comfortably in their rooms right up until game time.

Me and a lot of others said they lost that game in the last 10 minutes. But after hearing what happened, I think they actually lost the game the minute they landed in Auckland.

Now, think about this: every time a Super Rugby franchise visits Fiji, theyโ€™re treated like royalty, with police escorts and top-tier hospitality. Can you imagine an Australian or New Zealand team ever being put through something like this? DVC

โœ… Low body position โ€“ Keep hips, back, and shoulders parallel to the ground.
โœ… Powerful leg drive โ€“ Use lower-body strength to move the jackal backward.
โœ… Legal technique โ€“ No high tackles or neck rolls.
โœ… Stay balanced โ€“ Do not collapse over the ruck after clearing.
โœ… Awareness โ€“ Scan for threats after clearing out.
