South East Asia Regional Games – Cambodia 🇰🇭

Wow. That’s probably the best word to describe this performance.

Jan Lawrence Leonida “Enchong” has been training for less than a year, yet he came home with Bronze in Gi 🥉 and Silver in NoGi 🥈.

Standing at 5’7”, Enchong was the shortest athlete in his division, surrounded by opponents who were around 6 feet tall and physically stronger.

But he didn’t let size decide the outcome.

He outsmarted, outworked, and outplayed his opponents.

The Gi Division 🥉

His Gi division was a wild ride, with a lot of luck involved in how things unfolded. Enchong earned a Bronze Medal, but in true Enchong fashion, he didn’t accept the medal and settled for less.

Then came NoGi. 🥈

This is where the Rocky Balboa story begins. 🔥

Facing much bigger and skilled opponents, Enchong relied on technique, composure, and intelligence. He went on to defeat two much larger opponents on his way to the finals.

In the finals, he was just moments away from potentially scoring and taking the win when an old injury prevented him from continuing.

He finished with Silver, but the medal doesn’t tell the whole story.

Enchong competed using the CW Jiujitsu way:

Pressure. Control. Precision. Smarts. Hard work. And a never-say-die attitude.

Less than a year of experience.
The smallest guy in the division.
Facing giants.
And still making it to the finals.

That’s a story worth telling.

Enchong, your journey is only beginning. Keep working, keep learning, and keep believing.

Congratulations to Raesee Reyes for winning Bronze 🥉 in the Jiujitsu Duo competition!

Raesee showcased her experience, excellence, precision, and composure throughout the competition. Together with her partner Olivia Oakley, they delivered strong performances and were able to secure a well-deserved medal.

There were moments when the scoring was certainly debatable, but Raesee and Olivia stayed focused and continued to perform to the best of their abilities.

Behind this achievement is a tremendous amount of hard work.

Raesee spends hours commuting just to train and practice their routines, all while balancing schoolwork and training, no easy task, especially as she prepares for the next chapter of her academic journey.

Her dedication, discipline, and commitment are truly admirable.

Alessa Robine Del Rosario is one of the hardest-working athletes in our gym. Small in stature, but built like a tank, Alessa continues to show that heart and determination can make a huge difference on the mat.

In Cambodia, she was able to showcase different aspects of her game while competing against bigger athletes. Every match was closely contested, with the smallest advantages making the difference.

She is strong, incredibly talented, and still has so much room to grow. I can’t wait to see what even more hard work and experience will bring in the future.

Batang Pinoy is only a few months away, and the lessons she learned in Cambodia will become part of her growth as an athlete.

We’re excited to see her final form, just like a Super Saiyan! ⚡🥋

Congratulations to Jillian Realin for bringing home a Bronze Medal 🥉 in the NoGi division!

For this competition, Jillian had limited training focused on ground work due to various circumstances. A natural 44 kg athlete, she stepped up to compete at 48 kg, facing opponents who were significantly bigger and stronger.

But Jillian showed what grit, courage, and talent can do. Despite the size difference, she never backed down and was able to compete toe-to-toe with her larger opponents.

This medal is a testament to her hard work, determination, and fighting spirit.

Olivia Oakley delivered an impressive performance, earning Bronze and Silver alongside her partners Raesee Reyes and Red in Jiujitsu Duo.

Jiujitsu Duo is a discipline that showcases precision, accuracy, timing, and control in the ex*****on of martial arts techniques. It is a grueling discipline that demands focus, discipline, and countless hours of practice.

We are proud to see Olivia perform with confidence and composure. Her hard work, dedication, and commitment have truly paid off.
