LPU-Laguna Pirates Chess Team

Looking back at an incredible year with our pioneer batch of chess scholars at LPU-Laguna! Despite facing an incredibly busy, non-stop schedule every single month, our players successfully balanced their sports and academics, achieving honors in the classroom.

Special thanks to our dedicated coaches, AGM Jhon Peter "JP" Ablid and WFM Michelle Yaon, for investing their time and expertise into training these athletes.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this monumental year possible:
▪️Sir Buffy Laurel: For spearheading this initiative and providing constant support. Without you, this chess team wouldn’t have even started back in 2023.

▪️Sir Noli Ayo: For your invaluable guidance and unwavering support of sports across the LPU campuses.

Competing in nearly 20 competitions over the past 10 months is truly an incredible story to tell. We have gained so much experience, and we are still actively learning and growing. Thank you once again to the entire LPU-Laguna community!
