Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva delivered a sharp and direct message, pushing back against what he sees as an increasingly dangerous mindset in global politics. He criticized the idea of any leader acting as if they “own the world,” warning against impulsive decisions that ignore the sovereignty of other nations.

Referring to a pattern of controversial statements about taking control of places like Greenland and the Panama Canal, Lula made it clear that such thinking threatens global balance and respect among nations.

He stressed that the world cannot function on the whims of one individual deciding what to claim, control, or attack. Countries, he emphasized, are independent, sovereign entities—and their borders, rights, and dignity must be respected at all costs.

Lula’s remarks reflect a broader concern about unilateral power moves and serve as a strong reminder: global leadership must be rooted in respect, diplomacy, and responsibility—not domination.
