RECENT ROBBERY-HOLDUP SUBJECT ARRESTED BEFORE FLIGHT AT NAIA

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), a timely exchange of verified information among police units and airport authorities resulted in the apprehension of a robbery-hold-up suspect at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City on October 2, 2026.

The police response began after information about a robbery-hold-up incident in Malolos City, Bulacan, on October 1 was relayed to concerned units. Subsequent validation showed that the suspect had proceeded to NAIA Terminal 3 and had checked in for a flight bound for Cagayan de Oro.

With the information confirmed, personnel of the PNP Aviation Security Group, Police Regional Office 3, and other concerned units coordinated with airport security and the airline. The joint response led to the interception of the suspect at the Domestic Departure Area before the scheduled flight.

The suspect was placed under police custody and turned over to the concerned units for documentation and appropriate legal proceedings.

Chief PNP PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized that effective policing also means making the right connections between units when information crosses jurisdictional lines.

HUSBAND AND WIFE AMONG DAGUPAN’S MOST WANTED ARRESTED IN CHILD ABUSE CASE

Under the leadership of PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police authorities in Dagupan City have arrested a husband and wife who were both listed among the city’s Most Wanted Persons in connection with a case involving the alleged abuse of a child.

The 49-year-old husband, ranked Top 9, and his 42-year-old wife, ranked Top 10 among the city-level Most Wanted Persons, were arrested separately on October 2, 2026, during coordinated police operations in Dagupan City.

The couple were arrested by virtue of Warrants of Arrest issued by a Regional Trial Court on September 22, 2026, for alleged violation of Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. The court set a recommended bail of ₱160,000.00 for each accused.

The PNP emphasized that the warrants were served in accordance with established procedures, with the operations properly documented and the accused informed of the nature of the warrants and their constitutional rights.

Chief PNP PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the arrests demonstrate the importance of sustained police coordination in ensuring that court processes are properly carried out, particularly in cases involving the protection of children.

“We have a duty to act when there is a valid warrant, but we also have a duty to do it the right way—with respect for the law and for the rights of everyone involved. Sa mga kasong may kinalaman sa mga bata, we must be especially careful and responsible because their protection remains a shared responsibility,” PGen Nartatez said.

The husband and wife underwent medical examination following their arrest and were subsequently placed under police custody for documentation and appropriate court proceedings.

₱20.48-M ILLEGAL DRUGS SEIZED, 5 ARRESTED IN NATIONWIDE PNP BUSTS

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., seized illegal drugs and controlled substances worth a combined ₱20,482,056.00 and arrested five suspects as anti-drug operations across the country from October 1 to 3, 2026 yielded major recoveries of suspected shabu, ma*****na, Kush, and fentanyl-related substances.

The series of operations began with a major ma*****na seizure in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, where an 18-year-old Filipino female known by the alias “Thaimie” was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted from October 1 to 2. Police recovered approximately 27,730 grams of suspected ma*****na leaves valued at ₱3,327,600.00 and 511 grams of Kush worth ₱1,533,000.00, bringing the value of the seized drugs to ₱4,913,400.00. A caliber .22 revolver, buy-bust money, and other non-drug items were also recovered.

The following day, October 2, brought a series of significant shabu seizures. In Brgy. Balugo, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, a 35-year-old Filipino male known by the alias “John,” an identified high-value individual, was arrested with approximately 1,150 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱7,820,000.00.

In Iligan City, a 42-year-old Filipino male known by the alias “John Jeffry” was arrested in Brgy. Santiago with approximately 133 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱904,400.00. In Brgy. Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City, another high-value individual, a 26-year-old Filipino male known by the alias “Rich,” was arrested with 157.32 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱1,069,776.00.

Also on October 2, authorities intercepted two parcels at a cargo facility in the Clark Freeport Zone, Mabalacat City, Pampanga. The shipments originated from Shijiazhuang, China, and were sent by a trading company based in the same city to a consignee in the Philippines. Examination yielded approximately 4,190 milliliters of suspected 3-Methyl Butyryl Fentanyl valued at ₱1,466,500.00 and 630 milliliters of suspected Fentanyl worth ₱220,500.00, for a combined value of ₱1,687,000.00. The operation was led by PDEA Region III.

The nationwide string of operations extended into October 3, when police in Brgy. Cuaming, Inabanga, Bohol, arrested a 38-year-old Filipino male known by the alias “Condring,” an identified high-value individual, and seized approximately 601.1 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱4,087,480.00. Another high-value individual, a 57-year-old Filipino male known by the alias “Jaime,” eluded arrest and is the subject of manhunt operations.

PGEN Nartatez underscored the importance of sustained police action in disrupting the illegal drug trade and keeping dangerous substances away from communities.

“Every successful seizure keeps dangerous substances away from our communities. We will remain focused on lawful enforcement, solid evidence, and holding those responsible accountable under the law,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Hindi natin hahayaang maging transit point ng ipinagbabawal na gamot ang ating mga pamayanan. Kakasuhan at pananagutin natin ang mga lalabag sa batas sa pamamagitan ng disiplinado at lehitimong operasyon ng pulisya,” he added.

130 FOREIGN NATIONALS ACCOUNTED FOR IN ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY FORCED-LABOR PROBE AMID ARMED CLASH

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., backed a government operation in Zamboanga Sibugay that accounted for 130 foreign nationals amid an armed encounter on October 2, 2026.

The operation was conducted in Barangay Tandiong Muslim, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay, by personnel of the Bureau of Immigration (BI), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and the Police Intelligence Unit and Alicia Municipal Police Station of the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office. It stemmed from allegations of forced labor and the employment of foreign nationals without the required visas or immigration documents.

An armed encounter transpired between the operating government personnel and unidentified armed individuals during the operation. Two Chinese nationals were wounded and immediately brought to Alicia District Hospital for medical treatment before being referred to Zamboanga Medical Center for further medical attention.

A total of 130 foreign nationals were accounted for, consisting of 120 Chinese, four Indonesians, three Malaysians, and three Myanmar nationals. They were placed under the custody of the BI and NBI and subsequently brought to Purok 2, Barangay Kimos, Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay, for consolidation and proper disposition.

Their immigration status, individual circumstances, and possible involvement in any unlawful activity remain subject to verification and investigation by the competent authorities. Meanwhile, the identities, whereabouts, and subsequent status of the unidentified armed individuals involved in the encounter remain subject to further investigation.

“This operation highlights the importance of decisive law enforcement action when there are indications of exploitation and immigration violations. Our personnel must remain alert, disciplined, and committed to protecting people while carrying out their lawful duties,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Hindi tayo magpapabaya sa mga sitwasyong maaaring maglagay sa panganib sa buhay at seguridad ng mga tao. Sisiguraduhin nating naaayon sa batas ang ating mga hakbang at mananagot ang sinumang mapatutunayang lumabag sa batas,” he added.

SWISS FUGITIVE, 17 MOST WANTED NETTED IN MASSIVE PNP SWEEP

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested 18 wanted persons, including 17 Regional Most Wanted Persons and a Swiss national, in separate warrant operations across the country on October 2, 2026.

In Region 2, police arrested two Regional Most Wanted Persons in Isabela. A 63-year-old man ranked Regional No. 9 was arrested in Echague for r**e by sexual assault, with bail, while a 29-year-old man ranked Regional No. 3 was arrested in Benito Soliven for four counts of qualified r**e of a minor, with no bail.

In Region 5, four Regional Most Wanted Persons were arrested. These included a Regional No. 3 wanted for qualified r**e in Camarines Norte; a Regional No. 6 wanted for three counts of statutory r**e in Camarines Sur; a Regional No. 10 wanted for violations of Republic Acts Nos. 9165 and 10591 in Camarines Norte; and a Regional No. 4 Most Wanted Person of PRO 3 arrested in Sorsogon for five counts of r**e. All four cases were with no bail.

In Region 6, police arrested three Regional Most Wanted Persons: a Regional No. 5 wanted for r**e in Iloilo City; a Regional No. 8 wanted for statutory r**e in Aklan; and a Regional No. 6 wanted for qualified r**e of a minor in Iloilo. All three were with no bail.

In Region 11, three Regional Most Wanted Persons were arrested, including a Regional No. 2 wanted for murder in Davao del Sur, a Regional No. 7 wanted for qualified r**e in Davao Oriental, and a Regional No. 8 wanted for r**e in Davao de Oro. All were with no bail.

In Region 4B, police arrested a Regional No. 6 wanted for statutory r**e in Marinduque and a Regional No. 10 wanted for two counts of violation of Republic Act No. 10883 in Palawan. Both cases were with no bail.

In the National Capital Region, police arrested a Regional No. 7 Most Wanted Person in Quezon City for qualified r**e, sexual assault, and two counts of acts of lasciviousness. The qualified r**e charge was with no bail, while the other charges were with bail.

In Region 12, a 17-year-old CICL ranked Regional No. 10 for r**e in Sultan Kudarat was taken into custody, with no bail.

In Region 13, police arrested the Regional No. 1 Most Wanted Person in Agusan del Sur for nine counts of qualified r**e of a minor, with no bail.

Meanwhile, in the Negros Island Region, police arrested a 48-year-old Swiss national in Larena, Siquijor, for adultery, with bail. The suspect was placed under the custody of Larena Municipal Police Station.

The arrests demonstrate the PNP’s sustained pursuit of wanted persons through focused warrant operations conducted by police stations, intelligence units, mobile forces, CIDG, PNP SAF, and other operating units across the country.

“We will sustain our focused pursuit of wanted persons and ensure that those with standing warrants are brought before the proper courts. Every lawful arrest strengthens accountability and advances the justice process while respecting due process and the rule of law,” PGEN Nartatez said.

PNP STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH RIDE-HAILING FIRMS FOR RIDER, COMMUTER SAFETY

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units nationwide are heightening vigilance against individuals who may misuse the identity of delivery riders to facilitate criminal activities and gain access to unsuspecting members of the public.

The heightened alert follows a recent shooting incident in Makati City in which motorcycle-riding suspects reportedly approached a condominium manager, with one of them seen wearing a uniform associated with a motorcycle ride-hailing service. The incident prompted the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to warn against the possible use of legitimate rider identities and uniforms to conceal individuals involved in criminal activities and to strengthen coordination with ride-hailing companies on verification measures.

The nationwide precaution is part of the PNP’s broader effort to stay ahead of common street-level crimes, particularly during the period when public activity and movement typically increase toward the holidays. Police units are reinforcing information gathering, police presence, and coordination with local authorities and communities to help identify emerging concerns early and respond promptly to verified reports.

While the recent incident was reported in Metro Manila, the PNP is extending the precautionary measures nationwide to ensure that similar concerns are promptly identified and addressed wherever they may arise.
