𝗪𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀, 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗛 2026 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂

The Department of Tourism Central Visayas Office, through its OUTDOORS7 Program, supported the successful staging of the Anything Watersports and Hobbies (AWAH) 2026 as it celebrated its 4th-year anniversary on May 23–24, 2026 at Hadsan Beach Park in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

Carrying the theme “Sports and Lifestyle at the Beach Park,” the two-day event organized by Better Than Good Management transformed the beachfront into a vibrant hub of watersports, wellness activities, outdoor recreation, and community engagement — gathering athletes, sports enthusiasts, tourism stakeholders, outdoor advocates, and beachgoers in a celebration of active and sustainable coastal living.

As one of Cebu’s growing sports tourism and lifestyle events, AWAH 2026 highlighted the increasing role of outdoor and wellness-driven experiences in strengthening Central Visayas’ tourism identity. Through the OUTDOORS7 Program, the regional office reinforced its commitment to promoting nature-based and outdoor tourism experiences while supporting grassroots initiatives that encourage community participation, environmental appreciation, and sustainable destination development.

The DOT Central Visayas extended support through tourism promotion initiatives, event visibility, participation, and tokens for organizers and partners, contributing to the successful implementation of the event and amplifying Cebu’s positioning as a premier destination for outdoor adventure and coastal recreation.

The celebration featured a diverse lineup of activities including competitive watersports, paddleboarding sessions, outdoor fitness activities, and interactive beach experiences that attracted both local participants and visiting enthusiasts.

The event also showcased strong collaboration among partner agencies and organizations such as the Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Shangri-La Team, Poseidon, Stand Up Paddleboarding groups, and Philippine Outrigger Canoe teams, helping ensure a safe, organized, and engaging experience throughout the two-day celebration.

Adding vibrancy to the beachfront gathering were exhibitors and sponsors including Kawasaki, GoTyme, DITO Telecommunity, Bioderm, Lotte, ISLA JustPressOne, Inc., Fitbar, OUTDOORS7 exhibitors, Hiraya, and Aframe, whose interactive booths and activities further enhanced the festival atmosphere.

More than a sporting event, AWAH 2026 continues to evolve as a platform for sports tourism, wellness, lifestyle innovation, and coastal community engagement — reinforcing Central Visayas’ vision of becoming a leading hub for outdoor adventure and sustainable tourism experiences in the Philippines.

The skies over southern Cebu came alive as the International Paragliding Event 2026 officially took flight, signaling a significant milestone in advancing outdoor and adventure tourism in Central Visayas at Brgy. Can-anao, Oslob, Cebu on April 26, 2026.

Organized by Oslob Cebu Paragliding Development (OCPD) spearheaded by Tito Rendon and Mirhady Rendon, supported by Department of Tourism Central Visayas through its OUTDOORS7 program, the event reinforced the region’s growing reputation as a premier destination for both thrill-seekers and nature enthusiasts.

The success of the event was attributed to the strong collaboration among stakeholders, led by the Municipal Government of Oslob under Mayor Ronald L. Guaren, with the support of Tourism Officer Elsie Ronolo. Guidance from DOT-7 OIC Regional Director Gelena Asis-Dimpas further ensured the program’s alignment with regional tourism priorities, alongside the contributions of SELRAHCO represented by Gabe Tomboc.

The multi-day activity drew participants and delegates from across the globe, including representatives from Hong Kong, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Japan, and the Philippines. Their participation not only elevated the event’s international profile but also contributed to strengthening Central Visayas’ positioning within the global adventure tourism circuit.

Adding prestige to the event was the presence of an international judge from Malaysia, Shakira Azman, whose expertise lent credibility and global standards to the competition.

With the successful staging of the event, Central Visayas continues to strengthen its foothold as a dynamic and experience-rich destination—one that seamlessly blends adventure, community collaboration, and sustainable tourism development.
