LEGACY AND REDEMPTION: A LEGENDARY END TO A LEGENDARY SEASON

The CESAFI Esports League (CEL) Season 4 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) tournament is coming to a fitting conclusion. What better way to end the season than a clash between two storied teams in the Grand Finals?

On the biggest stage of Cebu’s collegiate esports scene, two squads will go head-to-head in an all-out war for the crown.

The University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, arguably the most dominant team in CEL MLBB history, will once again test their mettle. Four seasons. Four Grand Finals appearances. Two titles. The USC Warriors are the definition of legacy. On the other end is a team stacked with enough talent to take down any squad in the league.

The University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, the last team to win a title in the league’s final preseason tournament, are back. As one of only two teams to have ever defeated the USC Warriors on a Grand Finals stage, the Jaguars are looking for redemption. The rivalry between these two squads is a story that Cebuano esports fans will never forget.

The birth of their rivalry goes back to the league’s final preseason tournament, where the USJ-R Jaguars took down the USC Warriors, 3–1, in the Grand Finals.

However, their glory came to an early end at the hands of the USC Warriors during the league’s third season. The Warriors eliminated the Jaguars in the Lower Bracket Finals and eventually went on to win their second consecutive title that season.

Now, the trilogy has arrived. In the Grand Finals of the CEL Season 4 MLBB tournament, these two teams will face each other once more. One team is looking to cement their legacy; the other is hungry for redemption. Only one will emerge victorious.
