The event brought together various regional agencies and stakeholders to celebrate teamwork, discipline, and the importance of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. DOH CVCHD’s participation reflects its continued commitment to fostering employee wellness, strengthening inter-agency collaboration, and promoting a supportive environment where camaraderie and sportsmanship thrive.

The Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH Central Visayas CHD) through the Family Health Section (FHS), marked Breastfeeding Month 2025 with a culminating activity for employees on August 27, 2025, under the theme “Prioritize Breastfeeding, Create Sustainable Support Systems.”
As the country’s lead health agency, DOH emphasized the importance of first informing and empowering its own workforce to serve as role models and advocates for breastfeeding in their communities. The activity highlighted breastfeeding as a public health priority with proven benefits for both mother and child --including improved infant survival, stronger immunity, early brain development, and better maternal health --while also tackling barriers and promoting support systems such as breastfeeding-friendly workplaces and community networks.
Through discussions and demonstrations, participants learned about the benefits of breastfeeding and practical techniques to support mothers. The event reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to championing breastfeeding and ensuring healthier outcomes for families in Central Visayas.
