To the real legends who survived every weekend with me while eating Virginia Food.

It’s been almost two weeks since the finale, and I think most of us already miss everything , the ingress, the egress, the huddles, the random conversations, the endless laughter, the friendly banters, the coffee talks, the batchoy after games, and even the loud noise that filled every venue because of everyone’s jokes and energy… sometimes loud enough to even get us complaints. haha.

But more than anything else, I think what we miss the most is the community we built together.

A community that accepts one another. A community that uplifts each other, gives honest feedback with good intentions, and continues to grow together despite all the pressure, mistakes, and challenges.

Weekends honestly will never feel the same again.

From Preseason 0 where it was just me, to now seeing how much CEL has grown in Season 4, it’s something I will forever be proud of. This season was especially challenging because we didn’t even have a preseason to prepare properly, yet every single one of you still gave your all. You showed up. You stayed committed. You accepted every challenge even when things became difficult.

And what makes me even prouder is knowing that more than half of the team were new volunteers.

Imagine that.

A team filled with new people, yet everyone stepped up, learned fast, supported one another, and worked like they had been together for years. Every weekend had its own struggles, but nobody gave up. Everyone kept encouraging each other, pushing one another to improve, and growing together along the way.

I saw your growth from the very first preparation meetings before Week 1 until the finale itself, and I genuinely mean this when I say I am proud of every single one of you.

Schools will always cheer for their players, but me? I will always cheer for all of you.

Because behind every broadcast, every smooth event, every highlight, every photo, every livestream, every article, and every successful weekend, there are student volunteers sacrificing their time, balancing academics, doing ingress and egress, staying tired but still showing up with passion.

CEL is not CEL without all of you.

There is no broadcast without you.
No community without you.
No stories told without you.

Thank you for allowing people to see the stories of the players through your hard work.

To all the alumni (Gors) who continued supporting this season, thank you so much. Even though many of you are already working and busy with your own lives, you still showed up whenever help was needed. Thank you for guiding the younger volunteers, visiting the venues, giving advice, and continuously putting your hearts into this community even after graduation. That kind of love is something truly special.

To all the mentors, thank you for every training session, every correction, every encouragement, and every lesson you shared. Thank you for helping the volunteers improve while also reminding them how capable they are. From training week until the finale, you stayed beside them every step of the way.

To all the department heads, I know how difficult your responsibilities were this season. I still remember our long interviews and meetings before everything started. As CEL continues to grow, the responsibilities become heavier too, but all of you accepted the challenge and led your teams with heart. You didn’t just build departments, you built safe spaces and families for your members. I personally witnessed your growth as leaders, and I will always admire your dedication, patience, and love for your teams. You all had many reasons to quit, but you chose to stay. That says everything.

To our hosts and casters, the voices and faces of CEL, thank you for bringing life to the league. People may only see the cameras and microphones, but they don’t always see the pressure behind it. Thank you for analyzing games, filling dead air during technical pauses, connecting with players, entertaining audiences, and giving soul to every broadcast.

To the Media Department, thank you for capturing moments that people will look back on for years. You didn’t just take photos and videos, you told stories through them. Seasons may end, but the memories you captured will remain forever.

To the Production Department, thank you for being the backbone of every livestream and every game day. Thank you for taking care of the players, making sure every department’s efforts were seen, and making sure families and supporters outside the venue could still witness the games live. You were always the first to arrive and the last to leave, and that dedication will never go unnoticed.

To the Social Media Department, thank you for telling the world who we are. Thank you for continuing the stories of the players and volunteers even beyond game days. You helped people see that student esports athletes are more than competitors, they are students, friends, dreamers, and individuals with stories worth sharing. Thank you for another season of growth and wider reach because it means more people are finally seeing the stories and passion behind this league.

To the Creative Department, thank you for turning ideas into visuals that represent who CEL truly is. Every layout, pubmat, edit, broadcast asset, and design became part of the league’s identity because of your creativity and hard work. Thank you for making CEL look alive every single week.

To the Writers, thank you for going beyond captions. You gave players stories. You made people understand who they are through your articles and words. Thank you for doing the research, gathering information, and helping bring depth into every feature and broadcast.

To the WebOps Department, even if you were only a small team, your impact was massive. Thank you for handling stats, real-time scores, and information that made the league more innovative and professional. What you contributed to CEL is something truly special.

To the Sponsorship Department, thank you for continuing to support the league despite balancing work, reviews, and adult responsibilities as alumni. Thank you for still accepting the challenge and helping provide the support that the volunteers and league needed.

And lastly, to all the volunteers…

Thank you for making CEL Season 4 successful.

Even if the season has already ended, I will still listen to your stories even when others stop listening. I will still sing random songs with you even if you tell me not to sing. I will still believe in you even during moments when you stop believing in yourselves.

You will make mistakes. A lot of mistakes.
And that’s okay.

As long as you continue learning, growing, and trying again, I will always continue giving chances because that is what this community is about.

CEL was never made for perfect volunteers.
It was made for students who are afraid of bigger challenges but still choose to face them anyway.

This community was built on growth, honesty, accountability, passion, and acceptance. We grow by learning from our mistakes together. We improve by helping one another.

That is what CEL means.

You are the real legends.

Because every legend starts with challenges, failures, pressure, and sacrifices, but chooses to stay despite all of it.

CEL is not only the den of the best student esports athletes in Cebu.
It is also the home of some of the best student volunteers in Cebu.

And together, all of you created something beautiful far beyond esports.

You guys are the legends.

This Mother’s Day, we honor the true legends of our lives—our mothers, whose strength carries us through every victory and defeat, whose love becomes our greatest foundation, and whose sacrifices shape the people we become.

Behind every athlete, every dreamer, and every rising legend is a mother who never stopped believing.
