Graduation Day!
6 months Post ACL Reconstruction.
Recovering from an ACL injury is literally like rising from the ashes. The pain of going thru depression , frustration of not being able to play , and the process of going through surgery, months of rehab and finally being cleared to play is a moment of triumph and celebration for the athlete . Yes. He has risen from the ashes.
At the Isokinetic Medical Group in Bologna , Italy where I had training in ACL Rehab we use MAT (movement analysis testing) which is a biomechanical evaluation that helps assess movement quality and predict the risk of lower limb injuries. The test is performed by a medical specialist in a Green Room, using a system of high-speed cameras, a force platform, and specialized software. But because we don't have it here, I just rely on my eyes and experience using 5 criterias patterned from ISOK to clear the patient for return to play.
