Marketing Students Hold USC Ninja Warriors Obstacle Course

USC held its first Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course on Mar. 30 at USC – TC Soccer Field with the purpose of promoting physical fitness and active lifestyle among Carolinians. The event was organized by third year advertising arts students led by Claire Codilla, as part of the requirements for their marketing subject under the supervision of Araceli Jayne Culibra, current chairperson of the College of Architecture and Fine Arts.
The first three Ninja Warriors to finish the obstacle course were as follows: Joseph Cabusas, AKA Master Papi; Chosen Alfeche AKA Master Chosen One; and Raffe Gatuteo AKA Master Recoil; the prizes for the winners were 3,000, 2,000, and 1,000 pesos respectively. The remaining 20 finalists received gift certificates from The Stayfit Box, The Seafood Masters and Craftdawgs.
When asked how they were able to come up with Ninja Warriors, Codilla said that they wanted to organize an activity involving the students and to draw people into sports and fitness.
All of the proceeds from the event will go to Inspire Inside Out, a foundation that aims to empower young people from marginalized communities through engaging in physical activities like parkour and martial arts.
Aside from Inspire Inside Out, also partnering with the organizers was Flow Genesis Parkour and Fitness Studio whose members served as marshals to ensure safe obstacles for the ninjas.
“It’s not just about the prizes or the money. It’s all about believing in yourself and believing that you can do it,” Codilla said.

Hello guys! The program and competition proper is starting and everyone is invited to watch 20 of your schoolmates jump, run and climb on obstacles to compete and become USC's First Ninja Warrior at the USC TC Soccer Field. Lots of prizes for the audience too! It's going to be fun and exciting :D
