Cebu Iwama-Ryu Aiki Shuren Dojo

O'Sensei, Morihei Ueshiba passed away on this day, April 26th 1969.

His Buddhist name, "Aiki-in Moritake En'yū Daidōshi" (合気院盛武円融大道士) appears on the bottom left (from "Ueshiba Monogatari", the Manga version of his life).

His remains were enshrined at the graveyard of the Kozanji Temple (top right) and the Omoto compound in Ayabe (bottom right).

These words are not arrogance, they are responsibility. Saitō Sensei dedicated over 23 years of his life living and training daily with Morihei Ueshiba in Iwama.

He didn’t modify Aikido to make it softer, prettier, or more commercial. He preserved it as it was taught. As it was lived.

When we train Iwama Ryū, we’re not imitating O-Sensei…

We’re honoring him through transmission, not interpretation.

This is not “my Aikido.”
It is O-Sensei’s Aikido, as Saitō Sensei received it.
