Batang Tri Grassroot is an amateur triathlon team dedicated to teach young kids the essentials of triathlon and having fun while doing it.

The Batang Tri Grassroots Program goal is to combat poverty through multisports. Coach Jojo Macalintal, one of the pioneers of Philippine age-group triathlon coaching initially partnered with the Blackbeard's Seafood Island Group to raise money to purchase bikes for underprivileged kids who want to be triathletes. The BTG Program now takes on a much broader objective in covering two types of kids:

The Batang Tri Grassroots Program goal is to combat poverty through multisports. Coach Jojo "JOMAC" Macalintal, one of the pioneers of Philippine age-group triathlon coaching partnered with the Blackbeard's Seafood Island Group to raise money to purchase bikes for underprivileged kids who want to be triathletes.

The “JOMAC Boodle” is Seafood Island’s way of helping young triathletes to achieve their dream. PHP300 of the PHP1,450 will be used to raise funds to purchase 100 road bikes and provide trainees with equipment, clothing, race fees, training, and travel expenses.

Drop by any Seafood Island branches nationwide to avail of this sumptuous boodle!

Scott Duathlon Race 22/05/2016

This race is the first duathlon race of the kids. Most of them are swimmers so it's good for them to experience land-based endurance racing. Congratulations kids! We are happy for you. Special mention to Paula and Maan for winning first place and third place, respectively, in their age group. Also, we'd like to recognize Batang Tri kid Elijah. Despite not being able to join the race, she supported and cheered for her teammates. Her act shows good attitude and positivity.

Special thanks to Ms. Cecille Ty of Unison Bikes for sponsoring the registration fees of the kids! We are truly grateful po!
