Not every training day looks perfect.

Low sleep.
Drained body.
Pushed limits.

But this is the side of endurance training people don’t always see.

As a marathon swimmer, I know that it’s not just about the strong days.

It’s about showing up when everything feels off and still choosing the work.

You learn to listen, adjust, and keep moving forward.

That’s where the real work happens.

That’s where resilience is built.

Because progress isn’t built on comfort.

It’s built on consistency.

Leave a 💪🏽 if you show up even on your hardest days.

I met someone cute last night.

After my swim, I stayed a bit longer, just sitting, letting the day settle.

Training was done, but mentally, I was still carrying a lot.

Some days feel heavier than others, even when you show up and do the work.

Then this little moment happened.

Out of everyone around, this cat came up to me… and stayed.

And I don’t know,
maybe it sounds small,
but it felt like something shifted.

For someone who has spent years feeling unseen or unwanted at times,
that quiet moment felt like a reminder:

❤️ You’re allowed to take up space.
❤️ You’re allowed to be here.
❤️ I got you.

Swimming has taught me to push through discomfort, to stay when things feel hard, to keep going even when my mind is loud.

But sometimes, it’s the soft moments after the hard work that hit the deepest.

Last night, I didn’t just finish a swim,
I was reminded that I’m not invisible.

That I am chosen.

According to my cat…

early mornings are non-negotiable.

No need for a swim alarm when you have this kind of “motivation” at dawn.

Athlete life + cat life = recovery days aren’t always guaranteed.

But I guess this is part of the training too, learning to function on cat-approved schedules.

Any other athletes dealing with this kind of “support system”?
