🏀From Grassroots to Greatness🏀

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Grassroots and Talent Identification Program successfully concluded in Zone 12 on June 26–27, 2026, bringing together young athletes, coaches, and basketball stakeholders for a weekend of learning, development, and talent discovery.

The program featured the U16 Elite Player Combine and Training Camp and the U12 Kids Clinic, led by esteemed basketball figures Coach Norman Black and Larry Fonacier.

The U16 camp provided selected athletes from across the region with the opportunity to showcase their skills through assessments and advanced training sessions, while the U12 clinic introduced young boys and girls to the fundamentals of basketball through fun and engaging activities.

The successful staging of the event was made possible through the leadership of SBP Zone 12 Director, Mr. Glenn Escandor, together with local basketball stakeholders, volunteer coaches, event staff, and the unwavering support of parents and guardians.

More than just a basketball event, the program reaffirmed SBP's commitment to strengthening grassroots development and creating opportunities for young athletes to pursue their dreams and, one day, potentially represent the Philippines on the national stage.
