My first full marathon in Cebu City. Dili paspas, but it was all worth it to finish in less than 6 hours.

Not all runners start strong.

Some even start with the wrong shoes.
Glonuel?
Nung sinuot nya basketball shoes, it was a fun memory!
At his very first unforgettable run, buong katawan niya masakit.
Yung tipong mapapaisip ka . . .
โPara ba talaga โto sa akin?โ
Pero tumakbo pa rin siya.
May moment pa na habang nasa raceโฆ
nahulog yung sapatos niya.
Oo, literal.
Pero instead na mapahiya . . .
tinawanan niya kasama ng team niya.
Thatโs Glonuel.
Hindi pinaka-mabilis.
Hindi pinaka-teknikal.
Pero totoo.
Sa 80KM pataas, habang yung iba napapaisip nang sumukoโฆ
isa lang nasa utak niya:

At tinapos niya.
With chocolate, energy gels, reggae vibes,
at kakaibang habit....
tumatalon habang tumatakbo para ipakita na may energy pa siya.

May mga runner na mabilis.
May mga runner na consistent.
Pero may mga runner na lumalaban kahit walang kasiguraduhan.
Si Robertoโฆ isa sa kanila.
Unang sabak niya sa running?
15KM . . . galing pa sa dalawang basketball game the night before.
Cramps. Pagod. Hirap.
Pero tinapos niya.
Doon pa langโฆ alam mo na . . . iba โto.
Pero hindi doon natapos ang kwento.
Tumakbo siya ng 250KM ultraโฆ WALANG SUPPORT.
Hindi para sa medal.
Hindi para sa recognition.
Kundi para sagutin ang isang tanong:
โKaya ko ba?โ
At ooโฆ kinaya niya.
Hindi lang puro seryoso ang laban niya.
May moment pa na sumali siya sa Sub-1 challengeโฆ
pero dahil sa sobrang fiber na kinain,
napilitan mag โpit stopโ sa damuhan ๐
At habang may sumisigaw sa kanyaโฆ
isa lang nasa isip niya:
โBahala naโฆ basta maka-sub1!โ
Resulta?
