Heat exhaustion occurs when your body loses excess water and salt, typically through sweating. On the other hand, heat stroke is a serious medical emergency that occurs when your body is unable to control its internal temperature.

Stay Cool, Beat the Heat. ☀️
The Philippine Red Cross Quezon City reminds everyone that heat stroke is serious — but it’s preventable with the right precautions. As temperatures rise, make hydration a priority. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during peak hours. Wear light, loose-fitting clothing, use hats or umbrellas for protection, and take regular breaks in shaded or well-ventilated areas. If possible, stay in air-conditioned spaces and eat light meals to help your body stay cool.
Be alert for signs of heat exhaustion such as dizziness, headache, or extreme fatigue — and don’t ignore them. Most importantly, check on children, senior citizens, and other vulnerable individuals.
Stay informed. Stay prepared. ❤️
