Negros Oriental Blue Dolphins

DID YOU KNOW?

NOBD Swim Club started with a monthly fee of just ₱100. It became ₱150, and today it's only ₱300, still the most affordable grassroots swimming program in Negros Oriental or maybe in the entire region.

From those humble beginnings, we've produced:

🏊 Palarong Pambansa qualifiers & medalists
🥇 Batang Pinoy medalists
🏅 UAAP swimmers & medalists on full scholarship
🎓 NCAA swimmers on full scholarship
🇵🇭 A Junior National Team qualifier
🚴 National Triathlon Training Pool athletes
🍁 A York University swimmer-scholar in Canada

If that isn't grassroots development, we don't know what is.

The mission has been clear from day one: to build grassroots swimmers into nationally competitive athletes.

🦁 XANDER MATTHIAS COMMITS TO YORK UNIVERSITY
NOBD ALUM 🐬 | YORK LIONS

From Dumaguete City to York University, Canada, we couldn't be prouder to see one of our own take this next step.

“I started out swimming for NOBD and I wouldn’t be where I am right now if it weren’t for the teammates and coaches who pushed me and made me better every day.” - Xander

We’ll happily take a little credit for this one. 😂 From the early days at NOBD, the long hours in the pool, the tough sets, the teammates, and the coaches who kept pushing him, it’s amazing to see where that hard work has taken him.

Xander, congratulations on becoming a York Lion! 🦁

Go show them what a Negros Oriental Blue Dolphin can do. 💙

Now go raise that Philippine flag. 🇵🇭

Happy Birthday to the coach who makes us laugh, cry, suffer, and somehow come back for more. 😂😭🏊‍♂️

Thank you for pushing us beyond what we thought we could do and for believing in us every step of the way. Your tough love, patience, and dedication mean more than words can say.

We may complain about the sets… but we’ll always be grateful for the person who made us stronger. ❤️

Happy Birthday, Coach! 🎂🫶

A great weekend with the NOBD Swim Club family at the 3rd Cebu Race Pace Swim Meet ABC!

Proud of all our swimmers who stepped up, competed, and gave their best in every race. More than the results, it was great to see the hard work, discipline, teamwork, and confidence they continue to build along the way.

Thank you to our coaches for their guidance and to all the parents for their constant support and encouragement.

Keep swimming, keep learning, and keep pushing forward. We’re proud of you, NOBD!

Champions are built in the classroom and on the field.

Sports teach discipline, teamwork, and resilience, while education builds the knowledge and opportunities that last a lifetime. Together, they shape well-rounded individuals ready to succeed in every aspect of life.

As Bea Lhuillier reminds us:
"Education is more important than sports. Sports help develop character, but they need their education first and foremost."

Let's continue to strive for excellence in both academics and athletics.

Education First, Excellence Always 📚

Before becoming an Olympic and SEA Games medalist in taekwondo, Bea Lhuillier was a student balancing school and sport.

Now, as a mother and sports advocate, she believes that while sports help shape character, education remains the foundation for a brighter future.

Her message remains relevant: winning medals is important, but building a strong foundation through education is just as valuable.

Why do you believe it’s important for athletes to prioritize both academics and athletics? Share your thoughts in the comments below! 👇🏻
