AGUINEA SIBLINGS SHINE AT THE 2ND PROTECH PIÑA NATIONAL AGE GROUP SUPER 500 CHAMPIONSHIP

ORMOC CITY, LEYTE (June 3–6, 2026) — The Rafa Gensan Sports Center and JLTC Badminton Training Camp proudly celebrate the impressive performances of siblings Raphaelle Dinara Aguinea and Remiel Alessandri Aguinea during the 2nd Protech Piña National Age Group Super 500 Championship, held at Badminton City Ormoc and sanctioned by the Philippine Badminton Association (PBAD) and the Philippine National Ranking System (PNRS).

Leading the way was Raphaelle Dinara Aguinea, who captured the Bronze Medal in the Girls Singles Under-16 category after a long and grueling journey to the semifinals against some of the country's finest junior players. She also reached the Round of 16 in the Girls Doubles Under-16 alongside her partner, Einnah Brianna Leighton Nuevo of Badminton City/JLTC Ormoc.

Meanwhile, 11-year-old Remiel Alessandri Aguinea showcased remarkable talent and determination by reaching the Quarterfinals of the Boys Doubles Under-14 category together with partner Frederick Jaras Jungco of Ormoc City Badminton. He likewise advanced to the Round of 16 in the Boys Singles Under-14 category, competing admirably against older and more experienced opponents.

These achievements reflect not only the dedication and discipline of the Aguinea siblings but also the value of international exposure and advanced training. Their performance is a testament to the training experience they gained in Malaysia through Protech Philippines, led by Mr. Mike Alayon, whose vision is to strengthen Filipino badminton players and prepare them to compete confidently on the world stage. The program continues to provide young athletes with opportunities to learn, grow, and elevate their level of play through international competition and training.

Above all, we give thanks and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ for His grace, protection, and countless blessings throughout this journey. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Coach Rizaldy Brian Nuevo and Protech Philippines Sports for the invitation and opportunity to compete in this prestigious tournament. Despite the long journey to Ormoc City, we arrived safely and returned home with valuable experience, new friendships, cherished memories, and achievements to be proud of.

We proudly congratulate the participants of the Protech PH International Training Camp Malaysia 2026 for their outstanding performance at the 2nd Protech & Ormoc City Piña National Age-Group Tournament, with many of them finishing on the podium.

A special recognition goes to three members of the Protech PH Alpha Squad International Team, who emerged as podium finishers in their respective categories, an achievement that reflects the value of international exposure, quality training, and unwavering dedication to excellence.

These victories are the fruit of 25 days of intensive training, learning, competition, and growth in Malaysia. Every training session, every challenge overcome, and every lesson learned has contributed to their success today.
