MANDURRIAO, ILOILO CITY - Iloilo Scholastic Academy hosted the 5th Iloilo Intervarsity Debate Cup last April 26-28.

Debaters and adjudicators from the different schools around the country, namely Ateneo de Iloilo, Xavier University, Iloilo Scholastic Academy, University of San Carlos, Iloilo National High School-SSC, and West Visayas State University participated in the said competition.

Mr. Sperv Cadiao, ISA Debate Tournament Organizer, Mr. Vincent Villanueva, ISA Debater of the Year, and Mr. Gene Dofitas, Iloilo Debate Union Tournament Organizer were among those who made the event possible.

8 teams joined and clashed in heated debates about social issues and trends, among others.

Among the adjudication core were Ms. Debra Ponce from Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Mr. Chad Ortiz from the University of the Philippines Cebu, and Mr. Keith Jablo from the University of the Philippines in the Visayas - Miag-ao Campus.
