What an absolute thriller of a match at the jam-packed Barotac Nuevo football field this Saturday afternoon, June 6!

From a heartbreaking semifinal loss last year, the never-say-die Tubungan squad staged an epic comeback to outlast powerhouse Tabuc Suba, 3-2, in a legendary Inter-Barangay Football Tournament 2026 championship showdown.

At the first half, Tabuc Suba displayed absolute dominance early on, firing two quick goals to take a commanding lead.

Refusing to back down, Tubungan fought back at the second half with a relentless heart, scoring two consecutive goals just minutes before the final whistle to force extra time.

Under a heavy downpour in the first 15 minutes of extra time, Tubungan seized the momentum to slot in their third goal. Tabuc Suba threw everything they had to equalize and force a penalty shootout, but Tubungan’s stone-wall defense held firm until the very end.

This Saturday's showdown is indeed an elite showcase of the beautiful game that local football enthusiasts and visitors will be talking about for a long time.

The Ilaya booters edged Tabuc Suba players in penalties, 3-2, after a 0-0 draw at the end of extra time at FIFA Training Center in Barangay Tabucan, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
