THEY WERE 1–7. THEY WERE NEVER EXPECTED TO GO THIS FAR.
But they believed. They kept showing up. They kept fighting. And they earned their place among the TOP 4 in the PSAP 2026 Secondary Basketball Boys Division. 🏀🔥
Today, the journey of the MARY IMMACULATE SCHOOL PARANAQUE Secondary Basketball Boys Team came to an end after a tough battle against KCM for 3rd place. It wasn’t the ending we hoped for, but it doesn’t take away from everything this team accomplished.
It was a good run, a bittersweet season. 💙🏀
This journey was built on discipline, determination, perseverance, consistency, and faith. 🙏
For Coach J, his first year with MISP came with tremendous challenges. He had to scout and build a new team, discover their strengths, develop their chemistry, and train them — all within a very short period of time. Through the struggles and uncertainty, he stayed committed, pushed them to believe in themselves, and worked tirelessly to bring out the best in the team.
And the team responded.
With a smaller roster, shorter lineups, and younger athletes compared to many of their opponents, they faced every challenge head-on. They played with the heart, soul, and mindset of fighters — holding tightly to their goals, putting in the work, and refusing to let the odds define them. 💪🏀
Coach J believed in them. They believed in each other. And that belief carried them further than anyone expected.
This journey was also made possible by the unwavering support of the whole MISP community. Special thanks to Sister Lizette, Directress; Ma’am Orpha, Principal; and Sir Stephen, Sports Head, for believing in Coach J, supporting the team, and giving these young athletes the opportunity to compete, grow, and dream bigger.
The final game may not have gone our way, but this season gave us something bigger than a final score — it gave us belief.
To Coach J and the MISP boys: you walked into this season with something to prove, and you walked out leaving a mark.
The scoreboard says the season is over. But the story of what this team can become is only beginning. 💙🏀🔥
