IBALONG JUDO CLUB Bags 14 Medals at Shin Gi Tai Judo Tournament

LEGAZPI CITY – Ibalong Judo Club once again demonstrated its strength on the tatami after capturing five gold, three silver, and six bronze medals during the Shin Gi Tai Judo Tournament held on July 25, 2026, at 101 Mall, Naga City. The tournament was hosted by the Naga City Judo Club and brought together some of the region's finest judokas in a highly competitive showcase of skill, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Leading Ibalong Judo Club's impressive campaign were its five gold medalists: CJ Manrique, Matthew Seguritan, Cyrus Esquivel, Light De Leon, and Amberlae Secopito, each displaying exceptional technique and determination throughout their respective divisions.

The club also secured three silver medals through the outstanding performances of Kristine Sendin, Safiya Mendina, and Mikhail Ballaran, who fought hard against tough opponents to earn podium finishes.

Adding to the club's success were six bronze medalists: Arabella San Pedro, Joni Garcera, Seiya Takagi, Melvin Candelario, John Cardel, and Andrea Arevalo, whose perseverance and competitive spirit contributed to the team's remarkable overall medal haul.

The 14-medal performance highlights Ibalong Judo Club's continued commitment to developing competitive athletes and promoting the values of judo—discipline, respect, perseverance, and excellence. The tournament served as another opportunity for the club's judokas to gain valuable experience while representing Legazpi City with pride.

Club President Mr. Arlon D. Rances commended the athletes for their dedication and hard work, expressing gratitude to the coaches, parents, and supporters whose unwavering encouragement played a vital role in the team's success.

"This achievement reflects the commitment of our athletes to continuous training and improvement. We are proud of every competitor who represented Ibalong Judo Club with honor and determination," Rances said.

IBALONG JUDO CLUB WINS 25 MEDALS AT THE 1st KIWANIS CLUB OF DARAGANG MAGAYON REGIONAL JUDO CHAMPIONSHIP

Legazpi City, Albay – May 30, 2026 — Ibalong Judo Club delivered an outstanding performance at the 1st Kiwanis Club of Daragang Magayon Regional Judo Championship, held on May 30, 2026, at Pacific Mall, Legazpi City, capturing an impressive total of 25 medals and emerging as one of the tournament's top-performing teams.

Competing against talented judokas from various clubs and schools across the Bicol Region, the Ibalong Judo Club athletes demonstrated exceptional skill, discipline, and determination, earning 5 Gold Medals, 13 Silver Medals, and 7 Bronze Medals.

Leading the medal haul were the club's gold medalists: Safiya Mendina, Cris Manrique, Dexter Mendina, Roel Rosario, and Rommel Imperial, who demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and mastery of judo techniques in their respective divisions.

The silver medal winners were Andrea France Arevalo, Amberlae Grace Secopito, Arabella Grace San Pedro, Mickeila Rayne Jeresano, Sky Peralta, Roland Gresan Darca, Joni Cornelius Garcera, Mikhail Ballaran, Eddie Fernandez, Francis Edward Borromeo, Sebastien Mari Florez, Alexander Barnuevo, and Gilbert Nunez. Their strong performances contributed significantly to the club's overall success.

Meanwhile, the bronze medalists were Denesse Pascual, Roland Neciph Darca, Marco Emmanuel Millena, Lawrence Johnkiel Taronga, Seiya Takagi, Cydrex Nino Siton, and Noli Briones, all of whom displayed remarkable perseverance and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.

Organized by the Kiwanis Club of Daragang Magayon, the championship aimed to promote the sport of judo while encouraging discipline, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among young athletes in the Bicol Region. The event attracted participants from various clubs and schools, making the competition both exciting and highly competitive.
