𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐆 𝐁𝐔𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐓𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬

The College of Arts and Letters Association of Student Athletes Generation (CALASAG) officially began its BUCAL Tryouts 2026 on August 17, 2026, as student-athletes took part in the selection process for the upcoming university sports competitions.

The first day started early at 7:00 in the morning. Athletics and Football were held at the Bicol University Sports Complex, while Basketball took place at the BUCIT Gymnasium. Meanwhile, Chess applicants gathered at the New CAL Lobby for their respective selection activities.

In the afternoon, the BUCIT Gymnasium continued to welcome applicants for the Men's and Women's Volleyball tryouts, alongside Badminton.

As part of the selection process, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Sepak Takraw, and Swimming were conducted through an online interview. The interview served as an alternative selection process brought by the current circumstances, allowing interested athletes from different sports to still present their skills, experience, and readiness to represent the College.

The selection process continued on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, with Dance Sports applicants joining the online interview.

CALASAG extends its appreciation to all students who took the time to participate in this year's tryouts and interviews. Their willingness to take part in the selection process reflects the continued passion of BUCAL students for sports and competition.

With the tryouts now completed, CALASAG looks forward to building teams that will carry the pride of the College of Arts and Letters in the upcoming competitions.

📌 NOTE: Walk-ins will still be accommodated during the tryouts. However, excuse letters will only be provided to students who registered through the CALASAG Membership Drive application form. Walk-in participants may still participate in the tryouts, but they will not be provided with an excuse letter.
