What an incredible and unforgettable experience to stand together as siblings and bring home victories with the entire JKS-KBPS team after securing the Overall Champion Trophy🏆from the DA Challenge Cup Season III karate tournament held yesterday at SM City Sto. Tomas. This achievement is not just about the medals we received, but about the hard work, discipline, sacrifices, and determination we shared along the way.

Training together taught us to push each other, support one another, and never give up even when things get difficult. Having my sibling beside me made every challenge more meaningful and every victory even sweeter.

We are deeply grateful to our coach, parents, family, teammates, and everyone who believed in and supported us. ❤️

This is just another step in our journey. We will continue to train harder, stay humble, respect our opponents, and carry the true spirit of karate wherever we go.

Special thanks to our Shihan Michael Llave and our Senpai Denxel Myke Llave and all coaches, fellow athletes, and to the parents who cheer whenever we are on the tatami.

Counting in Japanese (for Karate) is one of the first skills every karate student learns. The Japanese counting system helps synchronize movement, breathing, and rhythm during kihon (basics), kata, and conditioning exercises. The standard sequence is: Ichi (1), Ni (2), San (3), Shi/Yon (4), Go (5), Roku (6), Shichi/Nana (7), Hachi (8), Kyū (9), Jū (10). After ten, the numbers combine naturally, such as Jū Ichi (11), Jū Ni (12), and Ni Jū (20). Counting loudly develops focus, discipline, and confidence while ensuring everyone moves together. Mastering these numbers is a simple but essential step in building strong karate fundamentals and respecting traditional Japanese dojo culture.
