The PNP MARITIME GROUP, SWOS actively participated in the 2026 Month of the Ocean Celebration. 🔱 🤿

In celebration of the 2026 Month of the Ocean with the theme "Sustaining Ocean Health, Sailing a Resilient Nation," The Maritime Group Special Waterborne Operations School (MG, SWOS) in support to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) CALABARZON together with the DENR-Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Lipa, Batangas, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Mabini, Batangas, Mabini Scuba Divers and the Rebreather Association of International Divers (RAID) joined the Nationwide Simultaneous Underwater Clean-Up dubbed "Dive? Linis din! Ano, tara? and coastal clean-up activity in Mabini, Batangas.

The Maritime Group, Special Waterborne Operations School composed of ten (10) Scuba Divers led by Police Major Robert E Sitjar Jr, Training Manager and Police Chief Master Sergeant Edison S Manuel, Dive Instructor successfully recovered eight (8) sacks of underwater garbage during the underwater clean-up (Scubasurero) along the coast of Brgy, Mainit, Mabini, Batangas.

Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to marine environmental protection, coastal preservation, and public awareness on the importance of safeguarding our oceans and waterways.

The activity highlighted the dedication of PNP Maritime Group personnel in promoting environmental stewardship through meaningful participation in coastal and marine conservation efforts. This initiative also strengthened camaraderie, teamwork, and shared responsibility in preserving the country’s marine resources for future generations.

As protectors of our territorial waters, the PNP Maritime Group – SWOS continues to support programs and activities that advance environmental sustainability, maritime safety, and community partnership.

🚨🌊 LOOK | PNP-MG, SWOS PARTICIPATES IN SCUBASURERO AND COASTAL CLEAN-UP DRIVE IN MABINI, BATANGAS 🌊♻️

The PNP-Maritime Group, Special Waterborne Operations School (MG-SWOS) led by Police Major Robert E Sitjar Jr, Training Manager- strengthend environmental conservation and protection efforts through participation in the Scubasurero and Coastal Clean-Up Activity conducted at Brgy. San Teodoro on May 16, 2026.

The environmental activity resulted in the recovery of:

✅ 7 sacks of garbage collected underwater
✅ 15 sacks of garbage gathered along the coastline

The activity was organized by the Rotary Club of Makati Poblacion led by its President-Elect, Police Colonel Mario P Malana.

Also joining the activity were personnel from the RMU4A Batangas Maritime Police Station together with members of the coastal community of Brgy. San Teodoro, Mabini.

This collaborative effort highlights the commitment of the PNP Maritime Group, other participating organizations and volunteers in protecting marine ecosystems, promoting environmental awareness, and strengthening community partnership toward cleaner and safer coastal areas.

Congratulations to the graduates of the Police Rubber Boat Operation Course (PRBOC) Class 03-020-MG-2026-001! 🎉

Held on April 28, 2026, at the PNP Maritime Group – Special Waterborne Operations School in Mabini, Batangas, the ceremony marked the successful completion of 49 participants who underwent specialized training with zero incidents—a true testament to their discipline, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.

The event was further graced and highlighted by an inspiring message from the Deputy Director for Administration, Maritime Group, PCOL RHODERICK B CAMPO, whose words underscored the importance of professionalism and operational readiness in maritime missions.

Throughout the course, participants engaged in intensive, hands-on training in rubber boat repair and maintenance, including outboard motor (OBM) servicing, transom board fabrication, and basic coastal navigation—equipping them with essential, mission-critical skills.

This achievement was made possible through the strong support and leadership of PBGEN LOU F EVANGELISTA, Director Maritime Group and the unwavering dedication of the Instructors/Training Staff, led by PMAJ ROBERT E SITJAR JR, Training Manager- MG SWOS, whose guidance and commitment ensured the successful delivery of the program.

This milestone reflects the organization’s continued commitment to developing highly capable and mission-ready PNP Maritime personnel.

LOOK | March 24–25, 2026

The PNP-Maritime Group Special Waterborne Operations School (PNP-MG-SWOS) successfully completed the Basic Service and Maintenance Training (BSMT) on Coltri Compressors, as well as Mares and Sherwood Regulators, BCDs, and Tank Valves, facilitated by Aquaventure Whitetip Dive Supply at SWOS, Brgy. Solo, Mabini, Batangas.

The training provided hands-on instruction on the identification of parts and functions, proper assembly and disassembly of SCUBA regulators, basic troubleshooting of Coltri SCUBA compressors, and correct maintenance procedures—ensuring that personnel are equipped with the necessary technical skills to maintain mission-critical diving equipment.

Through this initiative, PNP-MG-SWOS reaffirms its commitment to developing competent and self-reliant personnel, strengthening equipment sustainability, and upholding the highest standards of safety, reliability, and operational excellence in all underwater police operations.

MG-SWOS Training Staff Join Coastal and Underwater Clean-Up Drive “Scubasurero” in Mabini, Batangas.

The Training Staff of the Maritime Group – Special Waterborne Operations School (PNP-MG, SWOS), led by the Assistant Training Manager, PCPT ROMULO T MANGILI, actively participated in the Coastal and Underwater Clean-Up Drive dubbed “Scubasurero” held in Brgy. Solo, Mabini, Batangas.

The activity was organized by Mabini National High School in support of environmental protection and coastal conservation.

The initiative gathered strong support from various stakeholders including barangay officials headed by Brgy. Captain Adem, representatives from Mabini Tourism, SISEAD, Palit Plastic Bigas (PPB), several groups of dedicated free divers, non-government organizations, and local residents who collectively demonstrated their commitment to protecting the marine environment.

Composed of trained divers and PNP maritime personnel, the MG-SWOS Training Staff conducted underwater clean-up operations aimed at removing marine debris that threatens coral reefs, marine life, and local dive sites.

The activity highlights the school’s continuing commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible diving practices.

By the end of the activity, a total of 25 sacks of garbage were collected along the coastline, while an additional 5 sacks of marine debris were successfully recovered from the seabed by the participating divers.

These efforts significantly contributed to reducing pollution and preserving the natural beauty and ecological balance of the coastal and underwater ecosystems in the area.

Through initiatives such as this, MG-SWOS continues to promote marine conservation and strengthen its role in protecting the country’s coastal and underwater resources.

Heartfelt congratulations to PCpl Rommel L Lazaga Jr, for successfully completing the prestigious Scout Ranger Course Class 227-2025! From June 4, 2025 to February 25, 2026, he endured nine months of intense, disciplined, and highly demanding training—emerging stronger, sharper, and ready for greater responsibilities.

The Scout Ranger Course is known for its uncompromising standards, pushing candidates to their limits in physical endurance, mental toughness, leadership, and tactical skills.

Finishing this elite program is a true mark of dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence in service.

Demonstrating its commitment to advancing maritime law enforcement and investigation, the PNP Maritime Group – Special Waterborne Operations School (PNP-MG, SWOS) actively participated in the Consultative Meeting on Underwater Crime Scene Investigation (UCSI) Training Updates.

The meeting, conducted by the United States Department of Justice through the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), brought together key partner agencies from PNP-MG, PCG-SOF, and BFAR. Representing the school were Chief Instructors PEMS Douglas V Arizala and PCMS Edison S Manuel, led by the School Senior Executive Police Officer PEMS Eliseo D Celiz Jr.

This initiative highlights the critical role of Underwater Crime Scene Investigation in addressing maritime crimes, submerged evidence recovery, and water-related incidents. With evolving threats in the maritime domain, the PNP recognizes the urgent need to enhance its underwater investigative competence through specialized training, modern techniques, and strong inter-agency cooperation.

The PNP-MG SWOS remains committed to producing highly capable personnel, ready to investigate, protect, and uphold justice—even beneath the surface.

Look! The PNP Maritime Group – Special Waterborne Operations School (PNP-MG, SWOS) continues to strengthen its commitment to safe and responsible SCUBA diving as its Training Staff, led by PMAJ ROBERT E SITJAR JR., Training Manager, MG-SWOS, participated in a Risk Management Seminar/Workshop for dive centers and dive professionals facilitated by the Rebreather Association of International Divers (RAID).

The activity was conducted at Sanghaya Resort, Brgy. Bagalangit, Mabini, Batangas, and was sponsored by the Resort Owners Association of Mabini (ROAM). The seminar-workshop was also attended and guided by Mr. Marco Angelo J. Ancheta, Executive Director of the Philippine Commission on Sports Scuba Diving (PCSSD).

Through this initiative, the training school strongly emphasized the importance of responsible and safe diving practices, while recognizing continuing education as a vital component in enhancing risk awareness, operational safety, and professional competence in SCUBA diving.

The participation of PNP-MG, SWOS reflects its proactive approach in ensuring that its personnel remain aligned with internationally recognized safety standards and best practices in diving operations; hence, reinforcing its commitment to safer and more professional SCUBA diving operations.
