The national team trials for the 2026 Philippine Contact Ju-Jitsu wrapped up earlier today and what a day it was.

To everyone who competed, you earned respect. To those who qualified, the journey is just beginning. The standard is higher now and the work continues.

Thank you to the coaches officials and supporters who made this event possible. Philippine Contact Ju Jitsu is moving forward and the future looks strong.

The Ayala Mall Circuit Activity Center will be unavailable on February 8, 2026, as it will be hosting the Headquarter's Corporate Event.

However, we are pleased to announce that the National Trials for all divisions, including Adults, Youth, Contact and Fighting, etc. will take place on February 7, 2026, Saturday.

Details regarding the weigh-in time and location will follow shortly.

The Men’s Contact Ju-Jitsu -69 kg finals last January 26, 2025 between Neil Gaerlan (Red) and Archie Brioso (Blue) was nothing short of exciting! From the opening bell, both warriors came out swinging—Gaerlan’s sharp leg kicks and crushing body shots were met with Brioso’s relentless counters. The momentum shifted when Brioso executed a perfectly timed judo throw, sending Gaerlan crashing to the mat!

But Gaerlan refused to stay down. In a heartbeat, he was back on his feet, only for Brioso to sn**ch back control and hold dominant positioning as the clock ticked down. The judges couldn’t separate them—the bout was scored even, forcing an intense one-minute extension!

With everything on the line, the two warriors gripped each other’s gi lapels, trading brutal kicks, neither giving an inch. Then, in the dying seconds, Brioso exploded— a lightning-fast single-leg takedown sealed the deal! The judges raised their flags, and the gold medal was his! 🥇👏

In a high-octane battle last Jan. 26, 2025 for the Men’s Contact Ju-Jitsu Under 62kg, Aries Nordayne Lasar (Red) and Anthony Brutas (Blue) delivered a fight to remember!

Lasar came out firing, blasting Brutas with a couple of nasty leg kicks that echoed through the venue. But just as he sent a push kick forward, Brutas caught it with precision, flipping the momentum instantly!

Brutas took down Lasar to the mat, landing in closed guard, and from there, the punishment began. Known for his relentless ground-and-pound, Brutas dug into Lasar’s body with heavy shots, wearing him down.

Lasar, ever the warrior, nearly swept Brutas when he tried to pass, but Brutas was a step ahead—sn**ching a tight triangle choke from the scramble! As the choke sunk in deeper, Lasar had no choice but to tap, cementing Brutas as the gold medalist in dominant fashion!

Right from the start, Neil Gaerlan (Red) and Clark Sapetin (Blue) wasted no time, launching into a furious exchange of punches and kicks. It was a striking chess match—each kick met with a counter, each opening exploited with precision. The crowd gasped as both athletes caught each other’s kicks, only to answer with thudding body shots.

Midway through the round, Sapetin turned the tide with a slick trip, sending Gaerlan to the canvas and securing a top side control. But Gaerlan wasn’t about to stay down. With the explosiveness of a coiled spring, he reversed the position, flipped the script, and unleashed a relentless ground-and-pound assault to Sapetin’s body.

By the final buzzer, there was no doubt—Neil Gaerlan had imposed his will and walked away with a well-earned unanimous decision victory. A thrilling battle that proved once again: in Contact Ju-Jitsu, there’s no room for hesitation, only action!

The Men’s Contact Ju-Jitsu (Under 62kg) division saw a showdown between Jonathan Banzuelo (Red) vs. Anthony Brutas (Blue)—a bout that had the crowd on the edge of their seats!

On 01/26/25, both athletes came out firing with sharp leg kicks, setting the tone for an all-out battle. Brutas wasted no time, securing a textbook takedown and imposing his will with crushing top-side control. He unleashed punishing ground-and-pound, then smoothly transitioned to a dominant mount position.

But just when it looked like Banzuelo was in deep trouble, he pulled off a stunning reversal! Flipping the script, he forced Brutas into a bottom closed guard position. Yet, this proved to be a dangerous trap.

Showing his elite grappling IQ, Brutas locked in a tight triangle choke—cinching it tighter as Banzuelo struggled to escape. With no way out, the tap came, sealing a spectacular submission victory for Brutas!

Submission Shocker! Estrada Taps Out Pansacala in High-Paced -56kg War! ⚡️

The Men’s Contact Ju-Jitsu / Under 56 kg division delivered a must-watch battle between Eddie Estrada (Red) and Jack Daniels Pansacala (Blue)—and the crowd felt every strike!

Both athletes came out swinging, trading brutal leg kicks that echoed through the venue. Pansacala, showing his grappling chops, scored a well-timed takedown… but Estrada had a trap waiting.

In a lightning-fast transition, Estrada locked in a deadly armbar/triangle combo from the bottom! Pansacala tried to escape, but there was nowhere to go—he had no choice but to tap out!
