Super Smash Quiz Night

I'm afraid we have some bad news.

Due to logistical concerns, SSQN at Hooter's Nightowl will be on hold until further notice. We may move venues, or return to Hooter's, who has been very kind to us, but for now, the said logistical issues have to be sorted out.

But no, SSQN will not go gently into that good night. One way or another, we'll be back. With a vengeance.

We're afraid we have some bad news.

Until February, all events in Hooter's are canceled due to their rebranding efforts. Yes, this means there's no Super Smash Quiz Night this week. Our apologies for the late notice, but we were informed only this morning. Thank you.

Mash Up is a new format introduced in S01 E05.

The clue is related to two phrases which share one word.

One phrase correct: 1 point

Both phrases correct: 3 points

Our Quiz Master, Sir Kel (yes, he is now Knighted), suffered great injury in the battle of "Embiggening" so Marco Aventajado will take the role as Quiz Master tonight at SSQN # S01E05

Balance Update 4: due to concerns that the Final Jeopardy Question makes the entirety of the competition too dependent on it, two experiments will be carried out to tweak it:

1. No Final Jeopardy round, since the jeopardy round on its own already swings points due to the right minus wrong format.

2. The jeopardy plus final jeopardy round starts the night. That way, no more than 75 points can be gained from a successful wager, and the other rounds do not skew the power of the final jeopardy question further than it has to.

Also, the prize envelopes now contain the following random prizes:

1-2. +5 bonus points
3. 5% bill discount
4. 10% bill discount
5. A round of drinks

That way, donating an envelope for 10 bonus points is no longer a foregone conclusion since you risk giving 5 points to an opposing team.
