Matapos maglaro sa mga Amateur leagues sa Pilipinas, diretso sa Japan Bleague D2 para sa Earthfriends Tokyo Z noong 2021. Kaagad namang siyang kinuha ng BC Wolves mula 2022 hanggang 2023 matapos ang quick stint sa PBA D-League. Nakapaglaro din siya ng dalawang seasons sa KBL para sa Seoul SK Knights bago magpa-draft sa PBA last 2025.

Papasok na sa prime itong si Juan at sana ma-maximize siya sa Converge. Best point guard option din ngayon ng Gilas Pilipinas.

Led by Robert Bolick, the Gilas Asian Games team defeated the FIBA Asian Qualifiers squad in a closed-door scrimmage yesterday morning. Sedrick Barefield and Justin Arana finished as the team's second and third top scorers.

Following his standout play and the confirmation that Justin Brownlee is ruled out for this window, Arana was quickly added to the 14-man pool for Friday's FIBA game and made an appearance at yesterday afternoon's press conference. However, reports circulating last night indicate that both Arana and Juan Gomez de Liaño may miss the final 12-man roster. Head coach Tim Cone is expected to rely heavily on his Ginebra core Scottie Thompson, RJ Abarrientos, and Troy Rosario leveraging their established familiarity with his system.

According to a reliable source, Coach Tim Cone will not be including Juan Gómez de Liaño or Justin Arana in the Gilas roster for this Friday's FIBA window. With Justin Brownlee sidelined, CTC is leaning heavily on his Barangay Ginebra core Troy Rosario, Scottie Thompson, and RJ Abarrientos to execute the triangle offense, given their familiarity with the system. He is also prioritizing his trusted four-guard rotation of Chris Newsome, CJ Perez, Scottie Thompson, and RJ Abarrientos due to their proven experience and reliability in the past windows. While this is disappointing news for Converge fans, there is no official word yet on whether Juan or Arana will suit up for the Asian Games, as that roster remains unfinalized while priority is given to the upcoming FIBA window.

Sources indicate that big man Justin Arana has been officially contacted by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) officials to prepare his papers for an upcoming call-up to Gilas Pilipinas in the next window.

While the FiberXers' season may not have ended exactly as he hoped, things are looking up for Arana as he is set to join teammates Justin Baltazar and Juan Gomez de Liaño in the Gilas Pool.

Although the chances of him suiting up immediately are considered low given the prior addition of Justin Baltazar and the naturalization of Mike Phillips, Arana's presence adds significant depth and size to the national pool.

A bittersweet ending to a rollercoaster season. Even though we're not moving on to the playoffs, we gave it our all in this last game and managed to pull off a hard-fought win!
