Wow‼️ At just 6 years old, Anthony Edward Maldia (Grade 1 Dignity) of Lourdes School Griffins took on his biggest challenge yet: his 1st National Tournament in Dumaguete. He did not hesitate—4 days of grueling 3-hour rounds is a lot for a kid his age, especially when his opponents were often twice his age (U11 and U13 categories) and more experienced

But Anthony’s heart was in it. As the youngest participant, he fought through every format, securing 3 points in Classical, 3 in Rapid, and 2 in his first-ever Blitz event. He’s now on track for his official FIDE rating!

More than the points, his parents and coach we're proud of his grit. From 90-minute marathons to lightning-fast blitz rounds, he held his own against the country’s best. Huge thanks to NCFP, his coaches, and the chess community for an unforgettable experience.

OFFICIAL TRYOUT ANNOUNCEMENT

Lourdes Football is opening its official tryouts to both existing and new players. The program is committed to developing disciplined, respectful, and competitive student-athletes. All participants will undergo a structured evaluation process focusing on both ability and character.

The tryout schedules are as follows:

Tuesday, March 24, 2026
HSO Division (Born 2010 and older)

Wednesday, March 25, 2026
Midgets C–E Division (Born 2015 and below)

Thursday, March 26, 2026
Aspirants / Midgets A & B Division (Born 2011 to 2014)

Venue: Lourdes School of Mandaluyong Field
Time: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, the required training kits (strictly enforced) are as follows: Plain white jersey, plain black shorts, black socks, shin guards, and water bottle. Players must arrive on time, properly equipped, and ready to participate.

As some schools have recently just wrapped up their academic years, we wish to keep our welcome mats ready for those who may wish that their sons may be formed as gentlemen of holiness, excellence, character, and joyful service. Support and accompaniment in adjusting to and catching up with any missed lessons will be fraternally provided.
